Had to issue my first ever refund today. It's for a book I posted 3 weeks ago but which they've only just contacted me about. I'm working nights at moment and havn't slept well so rather than spend the few hours I've got looking for the C.O.P I've just done a staright refund.
Also had a card through from P.O to collect a package that needs another £3.50 paying on it. Just got a feeling its a RISI book cos waiting on quite a few. Saying that I did receive one last week and the sender had gone to the trouble of posting it special delivery.
    April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£150

    heres another question about RISI

When I click the link that takes you to the Amazon page sometimes the book has a differents ISDN Number than the one listed on RISI. Anyidea why?

RISI links are often to the most recent edition of a book, not necessarily the ISBN listed.

CDs generally sell for higher prices on Amazon than they do on ebay. I decided to clear out all mine (after burning them all to my PC of course) and although strictly speaking I'm not making a profit as I paid high street prices for most of them, I get some money back and I can still listen to the music!

I've also discovered by chance that certain CDs are in demand, because they've been discontinued, so I buy them on ebay for a couple of pounds and sell them on Amazon for upwards of a tenner - no I'm not going to reveal any of the lucrative titles - lol.

My original intention was to get rid of all my CDs but it's become a bit of a cottage industry. I watch on ebay for CDs ending soon with low bids and low postage, then check the 'buy used from' price on Amazon, and if there's a profit to be made, I put in my bid.

As previously mentioned, you can advertise on Amazon for months and don't have to pay any fees until you sell - if the item doesn't sell it can be relisted straight away, again with no charges until you sell. You can also adjust your price if you've had it on sale for a while with no interest.

I sold the L word series 1 today but messed up because I advertised it as region 2 when in fact it is region 1 - just realised! I have emailed the buyer to tell her and ask if she still wants it, the problem is that she has a hotmail email account and from my ebook experience I have never been able to get emails through to hotmail users (for some reason!). So I am envisioing her not getting any of my emails, not receiving the item and then leaving me negative feedback - ahhh!

I'll let ya know if she replies.

What you doing on here then? Get out and buy it now!

It was some months ago! I bought a biography off a market trader about one of the old Popes. He charged 50p for it but said he could not sell biographies. When I entered it on Amazon, there was one more on there in UK at 34.95.

Found another "buyer waiting" one for you:- The Complete Crossword Solver

I think I saw this book in a charity shop today, but I have about £10 to last until next weekend and was therefore not in a position to buy it. I am also not going to be in that area of London again for months, so if someone PMs me I shall tell you where I saw it. The author of the book was, I think, Fiona Ball, and it was a very large book, blue and/or green in colour. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't give a picture of the book and doesn't list the author so I can't confirm that this is, in fact, the right book.

It was listed at £5 and was in SW London, close to a station on the Northern line. Anyone in that general area or with time to go there can PM me and I'll let you know. I don't know if it's appropriate to put it here. I don't think it's worth going out of your way to get it as Amazon lists the average price as £5 and you would not make it up in postage. It is a LARGE book.

  • Grimelda - I'm about 300 miles away so it's no use to me but it's really nice of you to point someone in the direction of a potentially good book

You aren't the only one! I've spend my week off work going around charity shops and looking at Ebay. Got some good finds. Just hope they sell. And part of me hopes I'll have to register as a new business.

I bought a book in a charity shop yesterday afternoon about getting babies to sleep. Listed it when I got home and woke up this morning to find it is sold. Sale went through in the middle of the night - the buyer must be desperate!
