i'll add another rare book to the list..this was the one I bought 15 months ago for £91!
RT, story of a London Bus by Ken Blacker. Only a few were ever printed due to a fire at the works, and this is very sought after by collectors. One went on ebay recently for £65 (I think...)
Don't bother with any other books in the series, or similair books, it has to be that one.
Good hunting

Just found a bad feedback from an RISI swap I did a couple of weeks ago - I don't look at my feedback very often as there really shouldn't be anything amiss.
Anyway the guy says that the book I sent was filthy and not even worth 5p at a car boot - that valuation was probably correct, but I felt I described the book well. I said it was in acceptable condition & slightly grubby cover with creasing to spine. Pages tanned but still a very readable copy.
Maybe it was a little more than slightly grubby but I had cleaned it up using my usual method of kitchen towel and window cleaner so it wasn't really dirty! It was still all intact and very readable - don't people ever really read descriptions!!!
Sorry to moan, but I do try and describe all my books accurately and this chap has got to me a little.
Still I have a couple of books to take to the PO today, so all is not going too bad. Looks like sales are picking up again
Thanks for reading my moan - I feel a little better now and not so upset!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -
Does anyone in here have experience selling real estate or investment books on Amazon? I found a second hand book in a charity shop which is selling new for £33 and used for over £100 ( why?
) and wouldn't mind trying to list it used for something reasonable like £25, but do these books actually sell? I don't want to pay £5 for a book I will never read or get any use from if I don't sell it.

Hi there, have you looked at www.bookfinder.com to see if that £100 price is common? are there others at that price? I'd be very wary about this book because of the new ones selling for less. If you think that you could get, say £20 or £25 for it it might be worth a go but what it comes down to is you might tie your £5 up for months before it sells.0 -
Yes, you do have to be careful to buy the latest edition, especially of textbooks.
On a different note, to encourage people to be willing to post abroad, 3 out of my last 4 sales have been to The Netherlands, France and Italy! It's a cosmopolitan time for me as I listed 5 books on ebay on the last cheap day and 2 of the 5 were to Denmark and Sweden; they took under a week to arrive and the Swedish buyer gave me lovely feedback. It is pleasing to give someone what they want, and to get a couple of quid into the bargain too!I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!0 -
Well, I searched against ISBN. Don't they change the ISBN for each edition?
I searched bookfinder and the Amazon prices appear to be standard.
If I go ahead and get it I shall let you know if it sells.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Here's a solution. When you finish reading a page, just tear it out. You'll save money on bookmarks too!' -- Amanda's Handy Hints, Amanda Keller. :cool:0 -
I think you could get away with listing it for a little more if it is in a very good condition. What's the ISBN BTW?I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!0

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0130200638/qid%3D1143045455/203-9846292-0023136 has a price of £38.99, published 1999 and a sales rank of 62,998 which is OK. Depending on condition a price in the low 30s would work, I think.I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!0

OOOPPSS
Ive been using RISI way too much
the evidence:
I was driving to our local post office with more parcels and the postie was just about to drive off - but sees my car, jumps out, grabs a load of parcels from his front seat and puts them in my back seat - and at no time did he ask my name or address, he recognises me already - we have only lived here 6 months :rotfl:See the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0
