    Hi Guys!

I havent read the thread, so if Ive missed anything.....I'm sorry:o

Had a very s l o w day today but slept quite well, so wont moan.

DD has been out with her friend and she has come back for dinner.

DD was able to buy me a blonde streaking kit (Garnier one I use)for £3.00 which OH does for me, then my hairdresser trims it up for me and it saves me a fortune. I used to easily pay £60+ for cut and colour etc every 6...more if I wanted different coloured slices and now its about £10 every 10 weeks.

WM has been on and DW.

OH burning more wood tonight, so will hopefully sit out by the fire later.

    Hugs to all.

Sistercas - I hope that your dear heart feels better soon.

SnowyOwl - for some reason evil cat's claws never need trimming. I have supervised dear heart trimming them before, and we have even taken felines to the vets for claw trims but for some reason evil cat's claws are always short. She does dig her paws into upholstery, out of malice, but it never seems to do much damage. Hmm. For some reason I cannot imagine her booking a manicure, more likely a tattoo.

I am sure that there is more that I need to mention, but my mind is too seivelike today.

Logged on to post curried lentil carrot and cashew nut soup.

Bring 1.5 litres of veg stock to the boil. Add 185g of red lentils and one pound ten ounces of grated carrot (I cheated, put it in chunks and it took a lot longer) and soften (recipe said 8 minutes). Meanwhile cook 1 medium onion with 80g unsalted cashews in a tablespoon of oil until onion softened. Once softened add a teaspoon of Madras curry paste and 25g of chopped fresh coriander, leaves and stalks and cook one minute. Add the curry/coriander/onion/cashew nut mix to the lentil and carrot mix and then blend until smooth. Serve with dollop of natural yoghurt. This is VERY rich.

Dear heart managed half a bowl. Little bear enjoyed it, but was a bit unsure about the curry taste (he is not a fan). It is supposed to serve six so the rest will go in the freezer.

Celyn - hide the vase when voodoo woman isn't looking and then if she asks say, 'what vase' and act as if she is hallucinating. There are some extremely inexpensive vases in Argos and charity shops - try a swop and act innocent if she says anything. Blame the food she is eating. And then pretend that you don't understand what she is saying, asking your OH to translate something really obvious. - big hugs.

    Evening peeps

A big Happy Birthday to RedRuby, SilverCharming & Metherer :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: I hope that you have all had a wonderful day.

Celyn - I would do as Sybil suggests and buy an inexpensive cut glass vase and swap the flowers into it, when asked about it pretend that it is one that you borrowed from a friend and didn`t realise that you still had it and have taken it back. Then you can take it to work and hide it :D

Another busy day at w*rk today, all everyone is talking about is the upcoming job cuts/redundancies but i`m not doing too badly with the worry side of things at the moment. I`m trying to ignore it until i know for definite if my job is one of them.

I`ve just eaten a lovely omelette, today has been home made day, as almost everything that we have eaten has been home made with the exception of a sneaky bag of crisps earlier as a treat

Mr Sunny is at the supermarket with Dad with a very strict list to keep to and i shall now tidy the kitchen and load the dw and wm ready for later, the bm can go on tonight too and then i shall walk the monsters. I shall get an hour to sit down later and maybe have a read as my last subscription magazine is still sealed in the wrapper that it came in.

    Have a lovely evening folks.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Celyn - go to the shops/supermarket, buy another vase. When they are not around swap the flowers into that vase, and insist that your OH explains to her that the flowers have now been put into a vase "that she can take home with her" - that's the best I can come up with. Good luck - you have the patience of a saint and you CAN come through this - just keep taking deep breaths and counting to ten......or twenty....or 100!

Happy birthday to our Birthday Girls! :T

Moggins good luck for your interviews - I'm pleased you're feeling so positive about everything.

Quite a productive day - my to-do list is shrinking nicely! Managed to get the bits and pieces I wanted on the market - my favourite food stall even had the new Walkers flavours at 6 packets for £1! Have also managed to get a tray of muffins cooked, bread rolls made, pizza dough is just about to come out of the BM ready for making up in a moment. WM is on with a load of towels and thankfully it sounds like it's survived the experience so hurrah for that. I have a load of photos to process from the rugby but I think it's best we avoid the subject of the match - things didn't go well. To top it off when the boys got back to the clubhouse they found that there was no hot water for the showers....OH is just soaking in a hot bath now.

I've not been posting much lately as I'm really busy but have been lurking!!

Thanks to your encouragement I am still trying to keep to my new OS ways. Still making all of our bread.

Keeping the shopping trips few & far between and making a list. There is definitely more room on the pantry shelves! I can actually see what I've got now!

Made scones & a tea loaf today.

Managed to find some lovely curtains in a charity shop today to use for my W.I. Panto costume. Really need to start it tomorrow at it's dress rehearsal next Sunday!!!

I am so stressed... I just can't cope with them and they are driving me nuts. I am toying with the idea of going to my parents this evening and staying with them for the rest of the week :(

I was bought up to be polite and I have bitten my tongue all day, but it isn't going to last.

It's OH's mum's birthday too. And they bought her flowers. :confused:Which got put in my lovely specially designed handmade glass vase. Which I think she now thinks is the present. OH doesn't have the nerve to tell her and I don't have the language skills. *Anything* else in the house I wouldn't care, but it isn't replacable and it was a gift. I have very few objects I care about, but this is important to me.

On a happier note, my food dehydrator has just shown up - I just don't want to go home and play with it :( It's quite noisy though - is that normal?

Celyn - I'd be inclined to just transfer the flowers into a vase you don't especially care about and hide your good vase. Obviously nobody has asked you if they could help themselves to your possessions - show them the same courtesy and take it back. If they have a problem you could improvise, using That Woman, as follows (NB do not click on link if you are of a nervous disposition!):

Stand up to her Celyn - smile, be assertive, and don't let her push you out of your own home.

Csarina, that kitchen looks fabulously spacious and lovely and bright. It's wonderful having direct access into the garden, and when the summer is here you'll be able to just keep the patio doors open and let the sun in. Lovely!

Chrisca:T:T that is fabulous news! A mum always knows best.

Happy birthday Redruby, Silvercharming and Metherer - sorry it's a bit late in the day, but I hope you've made the most of it.

The weather here today has been carp beyond belief. It has done nothing but rain, it's so miserable. I hope it's not heading your way Marie, as it's not nice at all.

I have a nice bottle of wine in (OK half a bottle, the other half was guzzled last night) to drink while Casualty is on. My Saturday night pleasure... how's that for a saddo social life:o

    Night all.

    Hiya,
A bit late on here for me but have finished sewing for today. Just want to say

CHRISCA, great news, I hope your DGD is home now and sleeping comfortably.

CELYN, Put the flowers in a pint glass and pretend you broke the vase, however I would demand OH explain that it is YOUR vase and neither it, nor you, are to be messed with. I've got some guns if you want to stick by them.

CSARINA, Bet you can't wait to get stuck into that kitchen it looks great. Thanks for the link, I needed a laugh, Ooopppps sorry SNOWY it was your link, it reminds me of a joke my DD1 sent me.

    Two ladies talking over tea,
First Lady: "Johnathon bought me some flowers yesterday"
    Second Lady: "Oh how lovely"
First Lady: "Problem is, he expects so much and I don't fancy lying on my back with my legs in the air for the next 3 days"
Second Lady: "Don't you have a vase?"

    Have a good week-end all.

Beth...superwoman with a sense of humour...you are naughty

Snowy...I know that we Irish are generous but you could have kept your weather up there...it has arrived..

Celyn...I'm inclined to agree with csarina and say put the flowers in a bucket, but maybe ( almost definitely!) you are a nicer person than me so use a pint glass or something equally valueless and hide your precious vase. I would also learn enough of her language to be able to say nice things like 'get lost' and 'go home' with a wonderful smile on my face...other phrases come to mind but you can imagine them yourself I know.

Sybil...that soup looks good, will try it when I come home having had my energy restored!

Found my yeast...in DGS's shop, but made bases with half a bag of sunflower bread mix from Lidl and they were a great success....well, none left I always take as being a success!

Have my Japanese friend who lives in the West and her little girl (15 months) for the weekend, so DGS has been in his element amusing her and having crawling races.

Off to bed soon, sleep well all
