Hester, how do they expect the school to function if staff aren't being replaced? We all know you are a superwoman, but you can't do everything!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Pump on my wm has decided to pack in and have been told it will take 5 days to order one in so am going to laundrette with OH work clothes this morning and taking "clean" washing (IYKWIM) to my dd1 house. Didn't realise how much I take the wm for granted! Have handwashed all "smalls" (who am I trying to kid??) and they are all on line as we speak as it is a lovely sunny bright morning here.
Made a lemon drizzle cake for the first time ever yest - I am not really a good baker and was delighted by 1) how easy it was to do and 2) fantastic results! Am still basking in the praise of my OH who kept going back for another piece! Good job he is really slim (unlike me!) Now all I have to do is resist temptation :A - (not likely to be very sucessful at that!)

Morning all
I'm feeling so happy this morning I could burst. Nothing special, just the sky is blue, the sun is shining, I have 3 interviews over the next 10 days and all is right in the moggins world today so I am enjoying it while it lasts. DD is off to her dads in 30 minutes for two whole days and I am off out tonight.
I am looking forward to a nice pampering session before I go out, I even found some Lush smellies that I had forgotten about.
On the OS front, the washing still has to be done, I'm going to make a curry to go in the freezer and I might even do some baking, but then again I might just make myself a coffee and sit in the garden enjoying the sunshine for a while.
Hugs to sistercas and OH, that sounds really rotten, your poor OH
Tru - you keep going girl - believe me, being a cantankerous moo helps
Yorkshirechick - congrats
Hugs to everyone else I have forgotten.
Happy Birthday to Redruby and Metherer and by the looks of things Silvercharming too!!0 -
Good Morning All! :hello:
Happy Birthday Redruby! :bdaycake:
Happy Birthday Metherer! :bdaycake:
Congratulations Yorkshirechick!
Diva, that's great about the frogs - I am planning on doing that this year. I need as many friends as I can to help me win the blimming slug war! Hopefully the birds have been well bribed this year. Oh, and thanks for mentioning Rustlers burgers, I now feel a little queasy! Hugs to Tristan xxIsn't today the day that N9eav is going to scare the fish off the coast of Cornwall by dangling his tackle over the side of a boat?
Tru - you tell 'em girl! They'll learn... eventually...
Huge hugs to Mr Sistercas :grouphug: Hope he feels better soon xx
Csarina - it's good to get a landlord that wants long-term tenants. We are about to sign our sixth one-year agreement on this house, which is great. Our landlords are lovely, they have been patient on the occasions we have got ourselves into a financial muddle, they have always had any work needed as soon as it happens, and when I asked if we could decorate and knock holes in the wall for shelves they just shrugged and said it's our house now, we can do what we like with it! It is good to know we've got the house as long as we want it - we could never have afforded to buy somewhere this nice (although the landlords have even made it clear we can buy it off them when we're in a position to).
No housework needed today because my birthday present from my friend is an afternoon's housework :T We do the same thing for each other every year, and it's nice, because neither of us could buy a gift that would make such a difference! Today is my birthday 'do', which is nothing formal, just a few mates coming round, but it's a 'do' because they've all got babysitters for the evening! So I need to get all the [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] pre-loved items of special interest that I'm ebaying out of the way - the only drawback to our little bungalow is that there's just no tolerence for mess. And I'm thinking I need to have some nibbles for people, but everyone's on a diet so goodness knows whatI've only got as far as thinking crudites and a dip so far!
It's also the Cov v Chelsea footy match, which is going to cause chaos in the city - neither set of fans is particularly known for being friendly. Then Dave will want to watch the Man U match later as well, I expect.
Have a good day everyone xxx0 -
Morning. Not posted for a while, with DH and DS at home still with no work there's always someone hogging the lappy  ,but DS still in bed and DH gone out this morning sorting out a possible job that will keep them busy for a month-fingers crossed.
We've got some friends coming over tonight so I made a big chilli in the slow cooker yesterday.I used the recipe from delias winter collection, uses tiny pieces of braising steak instead of mince.
I thought I'd try a butcher out,dh took me -its a couple of miles away, and got 2lb minced steak,2lb of shin beef,& some of his lovely sausages, all seems good so far.I've had some poor meat from supermarkets recently, and we haven't got much Costco stuff left, which I do like generally but its a bit of a drive to get there anyway .I was reading a leaflet in the butchers while he was getting the meat ready, and said to him 'oh I'm having one of the forgotten cuts am I ? (The shin beef ) He said people are starting to ask for it more, but a lot of people dont know how to cook it,(needs long slow cooking for those who arent familiar with it !)which is a shame as its got a lot of flavour.I've used it for the chilli, and the bit I tested last night just melted in my mouth-yum.
Nic1lou2- I'm making a lemon drizzle cake too today :j
B bird-had to laugh,I used my vouchers for Good food mag too,its great when it arrives in the post, reminds me of when I used to get Jackie delivered as a teen many years ago,I used to sneak down and pick it up off the mat before my mum got up and then hop back in bed to read it
Hugs to those in need- MSD and T, Reverbe,Sistercas and dh to name a few.Apologies to others I've missed,do takeone if you need one, theyre free so very OSBeth hope your daughter takes it easy, you too.
