Just popped in to wish everyone a good day.
It's lovely here, quite bright and ever so mild.Could spring be here at last.
Got lots to do today, including the weekly shop. How I hate shopping.
sistercas so sorry to hear about your husband,I hope he finds some relief and feels better soon.
christabell I'm a bit like you at the moment.I feel like I'm drifting through life, looking for things to do.I know other people would probably love the luxury of it but I'm getting bored out of my mind some days.
Trazy you are an early bird,5am is very early to be up baking.I bet the house smelled lovely though.
Well, have a lovely day everyone,no matter what you all get up to.
Take care all........0 -
Morning Everyone
Off shopping in a moment for loads of carp that I dont really need but cant live without at the time! But it has got a lot better than it used to be.Then its home to tackle the washing mountain and cleaning.Got friends coming round tomorrow so need to get the uniforms washed and ironed for Monday today!
MSD-Know where you're coming from with Microwaves as I hate mine and it only gets used for warming the milk for the kids cereals in a morning
Sistercas-It sounds like you are both going through a horrid time at the moment but you must keep on at the docs to sort his meds out cos he shouldnt be in that much pain
Snowy-Love the post this morning it fair made me chuckle and I have images now of all your pets lying low to avoid clipping!
Yorkshirechick-congratulations a baby is such a blessing
Tru- when you master your problem maybe you could give me some tips cos I have the same problem

Morning all. Bit grey and dull here in Essex at the moment - looks like it might have been drizzling a bit too.
Reverbe - I echo what the others have said. It sounds like it's very close to the situation where being with your OH is making you unhappier than saying farewell to her/him would. Whilst it is true that only you know your situation - if I were you I would be giving some serious thought to how it would be if the situation was still to be the same in 10 years time. I always swore I would never get married as I was the kind of person who NEVER got chatted up and always felt that I just wasn't the kind of person who men fell for. I've been with my OH for 11 years now - married for 9, so don't do yourself down! Whatever happens, I wish you happiness, however you find it.
Welcome to our Newbies!! Sorry - your names escape me, but this is a great board and there are some lovely folk on the daily. :T
Sistercas your poor OH - it's awful seeing those we love in pain isn't it. Just be there for him when he needs you - that's the very best thing you can do for him right now.
Yorkshirechick _party_ Congratulations on your news!
MSD - Tris is such a fighter isn't he! Good for him - sounds like he's wringing every last minute out of what's available.
ROFL at all the posts regarding N9eav's tackle - goodness, he can't have imagined it would excite so much interest! :rotfl:
I have a mahussive list of things to do over the weekend - which I am tackling slowly. So far this morning breakfast eaten & dishwasher unloaded / put away. I shall get the BM going in a while for rolls to have with my soup for lunch - the rest can go into the freezer as I now have a tiny bit of space in the bottom of one! We're heading out to the market this morning and then into town - I have a cheque to pay in and we also need to pay in the bags of coins from counting up our holiday spending jar. Before we go out we need to check if there are any more toiletries either of us need prior to going on holiday - if I'm going to pay for parking in the town I might as well get my monies worth! MrEH will then be dropped at the rugby club and I wil come home and get a batch of muffins made & cooked. Not sure what sort yet.
After lunch and a bit of tidying round I will load up the cameras and head to the club - it's quite a big match for them today as they are playing the team who are one place above them - at the top of the table. whichever side wins this will more than likely go on to win the league so fingers tightly crossed. MrEH will be hoovering at some stage over the weekend - we've agreed that hoovering, and putting the rubbish & recycling out are his regular jobs. Tru - I applaud you - no, really, look...:T :T :T ....sounds like your lot had it coming to them - it'll do them no harm to learn to do things for themselves. If you have problems with other peoples clutter then try the six month carrier bag trick. Let the stuff sit there for a while (with me it's usually paperwork etc) then pick it up wholesale, sort through for obvious rubbish (advertising junk that's come through the door etc) and throw that away. Weed out anything cital and file it (insurance stuff etc). You're left with a smaller pile of bits which may or may not be needed to be kept. That pile goes into a carrier bag and a small piece of tape is used to hold the top together. Write the date somewhere on the bag where only you know where it's written. The bag is then placed somewhere out of the way - NOT hidden - you don't want to risk accusations of being underhand - I use beside the spare bed a fair amount as it's in plain view. periodically check the dates on the bags - if they've not been touched after 6 months, then the contents are thrown/shredded as appropriate. Works a treat - never once has he said "Have you seen such and such?" even after the offending bit of toot has been slung out!
Good luck with your tasks today folkies - I'm off to sort through holiday toiletry bags!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

MSD the OS thing to do instead of a Ru*****s would be to serve 2 pieces of corrugated carboard with a thin piece in the middle coloured in brown with crayon so it has a waxy taste to give the apperance of having a slice of cheese in there:rotfl:cheap as well as recycling

Sorry to hear of your husband's pain Sistercas. It's so hard for you too. As ravylesley said, go back to dr again perhaps?? I'm sure there will be some medically trained folks amongst us who would give you more advice than I can give, but big ((((hugs)))).
Woke earlier today and got up to have a cup of tea. Took that back to bed but DH was snoring . When I did nudge him he said he was having a little dream and would have to try to get back into it :rotfl:. I left him to it then as he works hard all week, little lamb :happyhear.
Need to go for some food shopping today and also to get dog food for our oldest doggie.
Tonight's tea is a pasta bake with chicken and gammon + some chopped veg, all in a tomato sauce. I put in a good shot of red wine as well. Will get some salad stuff and a French stick and then we're set. We're having DSSx2 and the oldest one's girlfriend. It was her birthday last week so this is a b/meal for her - she chose it.
Hope you enjoy your weekend folks.

Morning all, looks like it might be a nice day on the Lancashire coast
MSD - Our micro lives in the "shed" - the old coal house / scullery - along with the WM, TD & F/F, so as a consequence we only use it to defrost something in an emergency!
Snowy - we use our Mr T vouchers for RAC. Used to do the "double-up" on wine but they've stopped that nowCurrently saving them to pay for the hotel for my BF wedding in September, as it cuts the weekend from £408  to £102 in Deal vouchers, which is a bit more manageable with OH's diesel habit!
Stefjb - We met on t'internet and met up in real life at the Trafford Centre. However, the first time I went to OH's home about 6 weeks after we'd met (50 miles from mine to his), my best friend took me to the station, my mum gave me my train fare home "in case it didn't work out"and I was so nervous I couldn't eat any of the gorgeous lunch he'd made! All worked out OK, and we're now engaged and sharing his - now our - home
Have already washed up, WM is on, made some brownies for OH coming home and am about to clean the bathroom before dashing off down the M6 to visit my friends...one is the one who's getting married and the other was made redundant last week, so will beand
in one trip! Will drag the dyson round when I get home.....have left the cupboard open to see if it magically gets done, but no luck yet :rotfl:
Tomorrow we've got an early rugby match with 1.30 KOSale v Newcastle (on Sky if anyone is interested), and OH will tootle off to South Wales again
Have a great weekend everyone :grouphug:

Morning All,
Painting at DD's finished and all furniture back in place and bed made up. Tackled the nursery by assembling the cotbed and storage unit that goes undrneath, hung a hamock type thing that holds all cuddley toys and pics on the walls, and set up the crib in DD and SiL2b's new bedroom. It looks great.
At noon DD noticed swelling on hands and legs so I took her to the surgery and took her blood presure, they have a DIY one in the lobby. Gave the printout to receptionist who passed it on to the nurse. The nurse said they was a possibility that she has Pre Eclapsia and she must see the Dr. so an appointment was made for 5.30. Made DD lie down when I got her home. Back to Drs who said she must go to hospital and rang to make arrangements. Back to DD's and packed an overnight case, made a quick dinner for them then SIL2b took her to hosp. Got home and did DH's dinner, I couldn't eat anything, so worried. Stayed up waiting for a phone call which I got at 1.45am. to say they were leaving the Hosp as Drs allowed DD home. They arrived home at 2.30am, SIL2b was shattered and had to be up for work today at 6am.
I told DD to ring when she wakes and I'll go down and do cleaning, cooking and then bring their washing home when SIL gets home at 5pm.
I have forbidden DD to babysit tonight, DH offered to do it for her, look after a 2yr old and a 14mth old, ha, don't think so.
I have a chick roasting for their dinner and will do jackets with salad. Choc sponge in the steamer for pud. BM finished and have made a weeks sarnies for SIL2b to take to work. Have leek and pot soup simmering for lunch for DH and DD.
DH has raked out pointing in the outbuilding and is re-pointing to stop the Rolands (rats) from getting in. One of the drawbacks of country living.
Don't know where I'll find the time to make the curtains for DD's new bedroom but must get them done as baby is due on Wednesday.
I haven't read y/days thread so will try to catch up.
Do hope it's a good w/end for all.0 -
Morning all
Smokey, your post last night made me laugh, I bet your face was red.
Snowey, I use my Tesco vouchers the same way, for the same reason.
Hugs to sistercas & hubby, hope he gets some relief soon.
Hugs to MSD & Tris
Lovely & sunny here, washing will go on the line soon, I'm actually looking forward to pottering in the garden & doing some housework, without filling in a time & motion form. Teachers are leaving in droves at work, 4 are off with stress, 4 are taking early retirement, all the time the admin staff get busier as all the technicians are leaving & not being replaced.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester
