How much for a cleaner???

Just a quick question for anyone who is/has domestic cleaner.

Thinking of getting someone to do a few hours per week (maybe 3) just to help with general things (eg.hoovering).

How much would I be looking at per hour?

Thanks

It varies enormously depending on whereabouts you live and whether you pay someone directly or through an agency.

In North West England. A lot extra through agency? Where is best place to look to do it directly?

I'm in north west England and pay £8.50 per hour.
If you employ someone directly, make very sure you check references etc. before entrusting them with your house keys etc - I found the best way to find someone reliable was through personal recommendation. Hope that helps!

£10p/h central london per day, but willing to travel within 0207 no's per day and possibly extra for 0208 no's. will clean, iron and wash etc. too. Will keep the elderly company, but does not do child minding.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

I'm in the Cotswolds and it's £10-12 if through an agency, or £8 direct.

I live in London and pay £7.50 directly per hour. My mum in Leeds paid £9 through an agency and pays £8 directly. I think that it is one thing that could be cheaper in London!

That is useful! I am in North West as well, and looking to get someone to help with general house cleaning sometime soon, as we both work full time.

Anyone can recommend any agencies North of Manchester (Preston-Chorley area)? I am not sure with entrusting my home keys easily...
