Cat in tumbledryer, for a few minutes!!!

My kitten is a real hooligan, into everything.
If I leave the tumber dryer with the door open I always check for him, when I get back to it (for instance if I have an armful of laundry that I take to put on the table for sorting.
This morning I took the dry sheets out with my left hand, put my damp trousers in with my right, without stepping or turning away.
I made tea, breakfast, my packed lunch, emptied the dishwasher etc.
I noticed a funny clunking noise from the dryer, the catch went a couple of weeks ago & I think it needs replacing so I assumed the noise was it on its last legs, but for some reason I checked.
Charlie was in there:eek:
He was panting & his heart racing & a bit disoriented, he would only lie down (not with his head on the floor, but holding his head himself).
Anyway, he's been checked over by the vet, who says his brain is fine (pupils responsive) & has no bone damage (no pain on check), just battered & brusied & shocked.
I wasn't going to bother with the pet medical insurance, but I think he might be the sort of cat who gets in a lot of trouble:rolleyes:
He's sleeping now.

ooh yes cats love tumble dryers. ive got a paranoia about it and the washing machine and always double check before i turn them on.
i clean for a lady whose tumble dryer hasnt got a see-through door and sometimes when the dogs rush past it, it shuts. i once heard a faint meowing noise and wondered what it was.... tracked it down to the tumble dryer where old Bess cat was having a little sleepy! i almost died.... she could have suffocated. now i always make sure the doors shut when i empty it and double check before i turn on.What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Aww poor Boy, hope he's ok, don't be too hard on yourself accidents happen, my Dog already seems to be that way herself  Must've given you a fright, good thing you were home & heard it, give him a stroke from me!0

If I ever step away from it & leave the door open & return I always check
He must have jumped it & the sheets I was holding in my left arms, must have hiden him from view:eek:
Mine doesn't have a see through door either.
It WON'T happen again, I will check even when I'm standing there (as I was today).0 -
