hi just received this in an email link to 2 for 1 on Holiday Inn - as I am a newbie I cannot post link however if message me I will forward it.
we have stayed in a few Holiday Inn Express in London so here is some info for anyone
Holiday Inn Express North Greenwich - this is the closest hotel to the 02, you do however walk up a road to get to it, I would say at a regular pace it takes 15 minutes. At 02 you have the tube link - however be warned on weekends it sometimes isnt working so check before you book on TFL website. Prices shoot up when a concert is on. It is one of our favourites. Car parking is £5 for the full night you are there. Also if you come out of hotel and turn right there is a cinema and pizza hut and prezzo and other restaurants. and further along a sainsburys. Be warned however if you are at this hotel on a night of a concert people can be excitable - if no concerts on then it is bliss.
Holiday Inn Express Newbury Park - this hotel is excellent, it is one of the cheapest we have stayed at, we got a 2 for 1 for £60 for two nights. It is a 10 min walk to tube station. The station has direct link into central london and it only takes 20 mins. There is nothing much around hotel, next door is a handy Marks and Spencers petrol station shop, however it does have FREE car parking. Excellent hotel, very quiet.
Hammersmith Holiday Inn Express. As it is west london this is handy for concerts at Royal Albert Hall and Earls Court, Hammersmith Appollo etc. It is central, car parking spaces are limited, however we have had no problem parking, so long as you get there before everyone checking in. Hotel about 15 mins walk up a main street to tube. Excellent tube links. Car parking £15 per night. Wetherspoons underneath. This can be an expensive hotel, however we have managed to get 2 for 1 there for £85 for two nights.
Holiday Inn Express Stratford. Again limited parking, think last time we were there it was £7.50. 15 minute walk to tube, this is more a functional hotel, the area is not great and lots of gangs outside tube. However if you can get it cheap then its ideal for getting into London with its Stratford transport connections. However it is on a road which people seem to enjoy speeding along late at night, screeching and doing their joyriding stuff......
Crowne Plaza Kensington. We used our reward night to stay here. The room was fantastic, we had a wonderful stay. In a lovely area, right next to everything, 2 mins to tube station, lots of shops and eateries around. Handy tip, you can get reward nights at some great hotels, dont use the rewards at things like Stratford, just pick the time and you will get a great hotel. This is one of my fav hotels.
Holiday Inn Express Earls Court, about 13 mins from tube. car parking facilities, last time we were there it was £15. functional hotel. Not much going around it in the area. Earls Court does have a lot of hostels in the area. However felt safe when there.
Holiday Inn Express Southwark. Bit of a walk to tube. Functional hotel. Good for south of river, close to river.
Hope this helps

forgot to say.
Also keep deleting cookies and history etc when trying to get best deals.
Firstly go on site and look at the basic price.
Then go on the 2 for 1 link - even if weekday click the 35% discount - it gives the discount no matter when book.
Then compare the 35% to the 2 for 1
write all the info down
also remember rooms get booked up then cancelled, so I have found just lurking and checking each day works fine.
I find booking best on an evening for best price and availability
Make sure you registered for points
Be aware of concerts that are on in the area, or any events that will affect price. For example when the students go to uni as in now hotels tend to be expensive cause the parents are saying their farewells.0 -
just checked and 30th sept till 3rd oct holiday inn kensington forum (walking distance to royal albert hall, science museum, natural history museum, victoria & albert museum) much nicer than the one in kings cross in my opinion;) £264.45 for 2 people using 241 and f&f.:)
thanks for checking but there is a reason i need to be in that area - booked the travel lodge in the end - £229 for 3 nightsDon’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
I have a question about staying at a Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza using the Two Nights for the Price of One promotion that's being advertised at the moment.
I was wondering if it was possible to book three nights at a Holiday Inn or a Crowne Plaza and get one night free or would I have to book two seperate nights at one hotel and get one night free at said hotel and book a seperate night at another hotel.
The reason why I ask is that I'm looking for a place to stay during the MCM Expo in London that's taking place next month and I might not be able to share an apartment with friends.0 -
You would have to book 2 nights then 1 night separatelytravelover0

you would have to book 2nts on the 241 and then 1nt f&f play around with the dates to get the best offer price ie fri 241 so get sat free or f&f fri and sat 241 get sun free see which way is cheaper.:)0 -

Good info Mel, I have stayed at the HIE Park Royal, again very limited parking but quite lax street parking restrictions at weekends, next to North Acton tube, Tesco Express opposite. Good for Central London, Westfield shopping. Not far from Wembley but not a straightforward journey. Typical HIE,clean functional good breakfast.0 -
Can the 25% discount that people with a Disabled Persons Railcard get when booking a room at any IHG hotel be used on the Friends and Family rate or not?0
