Ive had a good deal with the F&F at the Intercontinental in Sydney, so hopefully Darwin and Cairns will give you similar (I've even splashed out on club lounge access!)

Thanks for this, didn't realise 2 for 1 wasn't valid in Australasia. Yes, you can get some good rates using the Friends and Family. Used it in alot of Oz/NZ when I went abroad this year for 5 weeks and ironically always had an upgrade to a room with a view. Did you use it on the Old Sydney Holiday Inn? We used it there at and got an amazing room with a view of the opera house. Never got asked for the printout, although we had it with us. Also used it in Wellington NZ and had an amazing room over the harbour.

The rates are good for Darwin and Cairns, compared with other sites, just trying to reduce it further!!!

The best advise what you can get from this post is to call to the hotel and ask for special promotions. With IHG group hotels and in 80-90% of all other hotels you will get great saving every time.

There are exceptions, for example, Marriott's hotels. They have different price policy.

When I booked A few weeks before Xmas it said book before 31st dec

I printed out the booking form and it says to book by 30th sept.Does anyone know if this will get updated as i have booked a hotel andi'm worried about the booking date on the form.

I booked with F & F today for Gatwick HI, assuming the 31 September would be 2010. We stayed at Crowne Plaza a couple of months ago and the voucher wasn't mentioned.

when I printed the voucher it said book between june 1, 2009 and september 30, 09.I've just looked at it again and the dates are not there anymore.It must have been updated.thought i was going mad.

Update -Checked again.When you go to terms and conditions and then print voucher the dates are there.If you straight to the voucher there are no dates.
