    Cherry Lambrini - 5% Alc!
    Normal Lambrini - 7.5%

the idea is to buy the cheaper and stronger 'normal' lambrini and add very very cheap fizzy cherryade to make it taste nice!

find out when your local supermarket reduces their
    a) Fruit / Veg
    b) Chilled Stuff
    c) Fresh Bread mmmm

i have picked up 8 sausages for 10p, a massive cream cake for 10p, french loaves for 5p, bbq chicken sandwiches for 10p, bags of mixed salads for 10p.
seriously this will save you loads!!!

ask around your family - somebody will always work in an office - theres paper and stationary straight away!

    good topic!

i used to work in the SU bar and in a cinema. the ice is pointless as the drink comes out of the tap thing freezing cold.

I used to work in a national cinema chain as a projectionist (one of best jobs ive ever had),

But anyways...i got talking to a coca cola engineer one day about the subject of people refusing to have ice in their drinks cos it jsut dilutes them and therefore getting less for your money, and he said with the syrup mixes used in fast food chains, pubs, etc etc they make syrup assuming that a set amount of ice is going to be put into it..therefore if you dont have the ice, your getting a stronger concentration ok drink. Most people wouldnt ever notice this, but in large amounts it can have an 'adverse' effect on the digestive system. I have searched for any lieteature on this subject but can't really find anything concrete. Most I could find is that it can effect the frequency of needing the toilet...which means u miss more of the film..hehe.

I remember when you could a 2l bottle of lambrini for £199 from the local Day and Night. The stuff is minging but back then I didn't have a taste for expensive wine. here's another tip. If you drink wine/spirit with mixer, drink it out of a pint glass (borrowed from the pub) so you don't have to waste time refilling!

Ouch... £199 is a bit steep!

  • Thanks for bumping this thread some really useful points on here
  • I'm not sure what you guys think but knowing what I know now I would not change my address with my bank everytime I went from home to uni. I did and it resulted in 7 changes of address being on my credit record - which is casuing problems now - this may not look so good for you either when you graduate and want a loan/credit card/morgage. Just send all you statements home and instead make use of online banking to check how your fund are doing. Also make sure you stay on the electoral roll at home.

Haha woah, I totally forgot I wrote this thread.

I'm in my second year now and am still moneysaving as ever!

My current venture is matched betting, which isn't strictly moneysaving as you're putting up your own money, but I'm around £30 in profit so far.

A tip: to stop yourself eating as much junk, put lots of fruit such as grapes, apples and bananas on your desk or wherever you are most and you will be likely to them. Not really moneysaving but a general tip.
