Good luck with the job and you'll cope with whatever comes along but sending a hug for luck.

Two machine loads of washing are on the line outside and I have made a large pan of chicken and vegetable soup for me and DD(23) for tonight.

A "french" loaf is in the panny and I have some parboiled potatoes so will offer to make chips for anyone turning their nose up at my soup!! Also have some cooked chicken left and some home made lentil pate so could use that with HM bread if people are picky.

The apple flan I made last night has all been scoffed so might try to make apple pancakes later or the chocolate fudge cake.

Have talked DH into early retirement at the end of October this year and have made him promise that if things get too stressful or difficult that he will go even earlier.

DD(15) who does not want sandwiches for a packed lunch will now happily take a tortilla instead. She also takes a couple of Twinks hobnobs but her friends fall on them like ravenous wolves so she is lucky to get any for herself.

Hugs to everyone and see you later

Yes you would be most welcome, although I must warn you I have never made it before, so it can go one of two ways :D

Diva, I looooove scallops, my all time fav, we normally have them with rice, and maybe some roasted baby toms, or some nice bread and salad, enjoy x

Fairy Elephant - I make all the lunches before I go to bed or when I get in from work, I'm either just about ready to go to bed or not awake first thing in the mornings! .

......Oh I am OK at making the lunches (the night before - I don't 'do' mornings!), my problem is remembering to take mine with me in the morning! Sometimes it makes it out of the fridge to the worktop...or the dining room...and once even as far as the top of the gas-meter box outside the front door...but often it doesn't quite manage to arrive at work with me:o !
I do keep a small supply of 'emergency rations' in my desk though - tin of soup, cereal bars etc. so I won't be tempted to go spend extortionate amounts in the work canteen (which only seems to sell unhealthy stuff too).

Mid-afternoon drowsiness has set in now, and I could quite happily put my head on the desk and have a snooze....think I will have my daily allowance of 1 cup coffee to wake me up!

***Weather update*** It's gone very dark and hailstones are falling - YUK! Poor DH - he is walking to/from work as I've got his car - mine is still 'dead' but was due to be fixed today 'weather permitting'.....guess my mechanic mate won't be doing that then!

  • Good afternoon everyone. Lots of (((((((((((GentleHugs))))))))))))) to all. We all need hugs even in the "good" times.

The weather here has been typical Lancs. coast today. Started with rain this morning, then bright sun and blue skies. Gray and snow, bright sun, gray and who knows at this point? All I can tell you for sure is that it's cold and windy. brrrrrrr

Not much happening here today OS or otherwise. I went to the laundrette and did a load of clothes this morning. They're draped over airers and hopefully will dry sometime this year. ;)

Tea tonight will be a pasta bake with a toss it together sauce. A little of this and that and hopefully it will be ok. I'll do some quicky wedges also as I baked extra potatoes and need to use them up. A few minutes under a hot grill and they're ready. Afters will probably be ice cream with warm jam over it for DH.

Hoping everyone has a good evening.

    Peyton xx

I am finding out tomorrow if we are being made redundant. Has been coming for a while after being tuped accross from one company to another.

Ive just managed to break even and pay my overdraft off, and now tomorrow could bring chaos. Thing is i booked a trip to a festival in france last week, possibly not the cleverest thing ive ever done.

How am i going to sleep tonight?

    hugs to all

    Hello everyone,

One very tired Ninny here tonight. Note I didn't say old. :D

Oh don't worry Ninny, we know you're old, so it goes without saying:D....:Dright back at ya!!!!:rotfl:

    Hello everyone

I've had a good day in the kitchen giving it a deep clean. I'm so ashamed of how mucky it had become:o - all my own wo*k, I don't have one of those "OH" household appliances to blame it on.

Aww mummysaver, who ate your sweeties? Isn't it annoying when we don't get to scoff our own little treats.

icecubequeen - has your parcel arrived yet?

I'm going to have scrambled egg on toast for dindins tonight, nice and simple! I've got some minced beef which is now defrosted - I had intended making mince and tatties, but can't be bothered. I'll do that tomorrow and stretch it a bit with some lentils which have been lurking for some considerable time.

I've just got the kitchen floor to do now, so best be off.

    Bye

Got to work today to find every machine either jammed or broken, what joy!
I emailed everyone with a list of all the changes since the lasy course & ended up with BOW not talking to me as she assumed it was a personal attack, even more joy!
    Hugs to everyone in need.

    Evening all

Well went up to see my little DGD at the hospital today and there is really no change at the moment. She is laying there alert with her big blue eyes but is still quite weak. She still have D&V but is keeping some milk down so I think its going to be a slow process. Like some people on here have said some people don't under 'internet community' so I made eye contact with her and silently told her that all her surrogate aunties on here are rooting for her, I think she got the message ;)

Not really much OS been going on here today. My saucepans are packed up to go back to QVC so have cooked some rice and pasta and put it in the fridge in case my new ones don't arrive within the next few days. Had beef casserole for dinner tonight, was yummy.

Not had a chance to read the thread today so hugs to all
