DD's 6th birthday today so will be spending the day getting her presents wrapped for when she finishes school and doing a tonne of washing that seems to have appeared overnight!
Got a joint of (british) pork reduced in Sainsburys last night so will be chucking that in the slow cooker with a load of veg for tonight. yum yum!
Being very un-OS and buying DD's cake as although my baking skills have improved they are not yet good enough to convince DD it is a decent birthday cake!
Hope alls well x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Morning Guys!
Drizzly here and my joints are hurting.
DD off school with women's stuff. She has been on the pill for 2 months now and they seem to be getting worse. I think she will need to see the GP again soon and maybe referred to a gyny. She is 14 and has enough on her plate atm. I was awful at that age too. Poor kid! She has just polished off an egg & bacon sarnie though so appetite still good:D
WM is on and DW has been on and emptied. House pretty clean and tidy.
I had a letter from the OU yesterday inviting me to do another course with a voucher code to use. I have a few other qualifications already but they are mainly in social work/criminology and psychology, so I have decided to do a Business Studies one. It only has 4 assessments and an exam. I do have NVQ's in Management & IPD but it sounded interesting. Anyway went to book it up to start May 2009 entered the code they sent me and it cost me £1...so very happy.
Anyway, I had better go as nurse due any minute.
Take care everyone!

Morning lovelies,
Beautiful sunny day here, so have one load of washing out on the line thanks to my OH being very efficient before he left for work.
Re: Tristan. After a couple of hours talking to him he became really incoherant due to the amount of morphine he was buzzing into himself. He stopped being able to type, but at that point our mutual friend came back so she chatted to me while he lay there singing songs apparently.
Wasn't all good though.. while he was talking to me he talked about taking pain pills as well as the IV morphine. This didn't sound right to me so I mentioned it to my friend and she said he had taken to hoarding his pills and then taking too many at one go. They also think he is a little addicted to the morphine so are trying to lower the dosage of that. Sure enough she found 4 painpills under his pillow. When I spoke to him again he just said it all hurt so much and he just wanted it to stop hurting for an hour or so. All in all I was online with him for about 6 hours and he didn't want me to go but I was so tired... Sorry, have to stop, going to cry again.
Will be back

Elaina - so you are the one responsible!
Chrisca - all crossed for your little one
Hugs to all
Tea tonight a savoury version of impossible pie recipe I got from the net. If it is good I will post it. I have to leave out the cheese, so will see.
Couldn't sleep last night. Little bear wide awake early.
Big delivery from Mr S today because darling father was supposed to be coming but I feel like death with this cold so he isn't.
Also ironing.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Morning all
Tru - thank you, you are a wonderful friend to have
Bargainbird - isn't that just typical
Got loads more washing to get through coupled with an 18 mile round trip to visit my parents. I must have been really tired last night as I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I have to grab something out of the freezer for tea tonight but as DD is at after school club I am actually paying for a school dinner for her today. Not very OS but because I have such a short time between her coming home and going to bed I normally resort to a Wednesday night takeaway for all of us. This way I can pay £1.90 for a cooked meal for her and save £8 buying the takeaway.
The sun is shining outside so I may wrap up warm and take my morning coffee outside when DD has gone off to school.
Also got told that my uncle died yesterday morning. Mum wants me to go to the funeral with her but for reasons I won't go into here, I feel it would be hypocritical to go. I haven't seen him for years (thank god) and before he became ill I had to ensure that he never came near my children which meant that Mum rarely got to see her grandchildren as he had a habit of just 'popping in' to see her.
MSD - huge hugs to you.0 -
Good Morning!!!
Busy busy here today as I am helping a friend with some spring cleaning as she has limited mobility. Then I have some of DD's friends from school over for tea as they are doing a project together. I will feed them HM pizza and wedges.
Need to pop the WM and BM on before I leave for the school run so I'd better scoot.
Fingers crossed for your DGD Chrisca. xxx
Pannypincher, that's some list of qualifications.
Sybil, Did LB enjoy his movement class yesterday?
Good luck with the job hunt Snowy. xxx
Hope you had fun getting plastered Beth.

Hello there!
Sorry about that, didn't expect to get emotional again!
Chrisca - hope your grand daughter improves today
Pen-Pin - hope your daughter feels better, I was in a similar state to her at 13/14 too.
kathy - you must be so excited! What part of France are you going to? (apologies if you have already told us, I have missed a few days)
Penguin - I love your avatar!
Moggins - *hugs* honey
Sybil - hope you feel better honey.
My OH went bargain shopping last night at Lidls and Asda and wow did he do well? 5 cartons of Covent garden carrot and coriander soup reduced to 10p each... Two packets of giant scallops reduced also to 10p, 4 pints of milk also just 15p and two tubs of cottage cheese for just 15p each. He was so chuffed with himself!
Ok, have frozen the soups and the scallops as they were out of date yesterday but now I need some advice. I have never cooked scallops before. I have seen enough cookery programmes to know you just sear them in a hot pan for a couple of mins each side in garlic butter but what do you serve them with? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
We also couldn't fit all the milk in the freezer so if anyone has a recipe for slow cooker rice pudding (made with basmati rice if that is possible... please let me know!)
Tonight will be corned beef quiche with the cottage cheese and baked potatoes.
I hope everyone has a good day. Warm gentle hugs to everyone who needs one.

I hope that everyones well.
I still feel s##t My cold has gone! but i still feel warn out:mad: just can not seem to get over it:mad:
My wife cooked lamb cutlets for dinner last night she coated them in breas crums and herbs:T very tasty:T she then served them with chips and veg!
It was a very cheep meal as the lamb cutlets only cost £2.20 for four of them and last night we only used two so thats two left for another meal:j
Im off to B&Q this morning to buy a new larn mower. Ours gave up on us at the end of september last year. So for the last few cuts of the year i used my moms and dads mower.
What im hoping is that due to these hard time B&Q ill have some good prices on there Garden stuff to try and tempt folk to buy.
Also im going with my dad and on a wednesday the over 60s get 10% off if thay have this card thing from B&Q. So thats an instant saving for me. If i ever wont anything from there i always go on a wednesday an take my dad with me:D
The twins are off to my moms later and my wife and i are off out shopping. then later im off to see about a collage course our local collage has an open night thing going on and as im job less thay said that there is no need to worry about fees as there is money out ther to cover the cost. i did not really understand what she was on about but im thinking that it must be somthing to do with the EU or somthing like that.
Anyway id better get going now so i hop that you all have a great day
Enjoy yourselfs everyone:j :j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0
