we took the pink not in use sign off and for our pains got st alked by security guards all round boots!" they didn't accost us (I kept hiding down random aisles, im quite short so they didn't see me!) but it was a bit scary :-[They call me Mr Pig!0

well thats another reason to leave the signs on isnt it?my advantage_card is like gold dush0

The staff are normally too busy to help you read the machines if youre visually impaired like me and cat see them right anyway, never mind *this time of year*! i now basically ignore the machine unless theres a relative in tow, as its too much hassle with the gtaff in eastgate, some of whom are very grumpy, poor staff! they seem much happier out @ the retail park for some reason, never bumped into any grumpy staffers there, weird that, probably coz it isnt as busy. usually have a relative if im @ retail park otherwise i incurr seven quid in taxi charges so dont have to bother staff about machines @ retail park, and often the guy is restocking the lunch chiller when im in so he helps me read the labels, bless.my advantage_card is like gold dush0

however a benefit of always nagging the staff to read out all the machine offers to you is that:
if they ever refuse and say we're too busy write to Boots citing the DDA
if you do it often enough they might get irritated enough to make the machines more accessibleThey call me Mr Pig!0 -
could someone tell me whether or not boots have stopped altogether putting validation codes on receipts for people who have either mislaid/forgotten/etc. their advantage card?
my grandmother doesnt have a card, but if you just say NO outright they wont put a code on, but she always just fumbles about in her handbag goes oh no ive forgotten oh ive taken the wrong wallet or wrong handbag etc. and usually the validation codes is put on i then get said receipt and said points
however when she went in last week spent about ten quid, she doesnt spend much @ boots so cant justify having her own card, she went oh ive got the wrong handbag and she asked for the validation code to be put on and they refused, i just wondered if coz of all the going ons on this forum theyve pointblank stopped doing validation codes.
she didnt kick up a fuss but she said what would happen if she phoned HQ up, i said oh it owuld probably be said that in the T+Cs thered be some clause about oh the validation codes dont HAVE to be given and are just done out of goodwill - can someone who knows the T+Cs off by heart tell me the truth? we are doing nothing wrong or fraudlent as far as i can see, but again i may need correction.
theres just no point *pardon the pun* kicking up a fuss - shell have chucked the receipt out now because if you take in one without a validation code on they wont accept it as in that case then yes i could understand fraudlent use, people oculd just pick up shedloads o receipts add them on, but i think the inverness eastgate staff could well have been in grumpy phase again.my advantage_card is like gold dush0 -
