I can't tell you it will actually work - I still have telegraph pole like hairs in my chin and see lots of people on here having chin problems (that looks ever so strange written down), nor can I say if using twice a week will be safe given the instructions are not to use more than one a week. I can only tell you I plan to take the risk with my own chin as its driving me MAD!
I don't want to alarm anyone but I have been reading on another website discussing..er... hairs that on rare occasions, laser hair removal can induce further growth in areas next to the treated area, especially around the face for women.
16. Is it true that laser hair removal can cause induced hair growth on some areas?
This occurrence has been reported by consumers on various forums, although it has not yet been medically proven. It is a rare occurrence and appears to happen only when treating woman’s face or men’s back/shoulders/upper arms when certain conditions are present. Usually, this happens more often on darker skin types (type IV and darker) when treating fine or vellus hairs, and at somewhat low settings.
The best way to stay on the safe side is to only treat the above areas with laser if they have coarse dark hair and to make sure the laser operator doesn’t treat any sparse, fine or vellus hairs. Those hairs should be removed with electrolysis.

I found this thread yesterday and it provided me with hours of amusement. Needless to say, I am a hairy being also, and have long awaited a home version of a lazer hair removal system. Now that it's here I really have reservations about using it. I have become quite accustomed to being a little more hairy than your average girl and hair removal has become so inbuilt into my life. What would I do with all the free time! Anyway, as the Smooth Skin is on offer again I am very tempted. Phoned Boots customer services yesterday and I was quoted £99 for a replacement head when the bulb depleats on the device. I must say that I have so much admiration for the ladies on this forum who are literally jumping through hoops to be hair free. My sister-in-law had salon lazer hair removal on her legs last year at a cost of £2000 and is very pleased with the results. Legs now completely hairless! She had six treatments in total. Thank you to the lady who provided the CyDen link. This company makes lazer devices for professional use aswell as the iPulse Smooth Skin for Boots.0

14 treatments on chin and neck. Neck mostly free just odd stragglers. Chin no notice at all.
Anyone had any success on chin and how long did it take?0 -
After reading through all the posts ive plucked up the courage to order myself one, along with more gel, white eyeliner and moisturising gel. Iv'e tried just about every other hair removal device going without any sucess. The thought of seeing some actual results is sooo exciting, the update reports of how others are getting on are very helpful and encouraging although my main problem area is my chin, and this is seeming to be a difficult area to treat sucessfully, still I have plenty of other hairy parts to be getting on with....lol0

It's quite funny really. My underchin for me was the worst area quite thick and noticeable. And yet this area has got tons better! And the my chin where it was just a few strays say 10 or so has pretty much doubled and more!If I get to the end of 6 weeks treatment of 2 a week I think I will abandon it and just pluck the whole lot out :eek:0 -
Has anyone thought that the difference in the chin compared to the under-chin could be due to exposure to sunlight?. i.e not on the right skin setting?Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0

I've been using both on medium. My chin will be tanned slightly more. Therefore in theory you would need to use a lower setting. I had thought of that ;-) But i'm not extremeley tanned so wouldn't warrent the lower setting but probably too dark for fair. that and it hurts a bit on medium so going up to fair might hurt more that and might change the pigment if used on the wrong setting. Hence the try twice a week instead of higher setting once a week. Have to say i'm not confident at all of it helping now though.0

Many thanks for posting this, I hadn't heard of it at all until I was glancing through the forums on last nights night shift. As soon as I finished work in the morning I bought one on the way home! At the moment I'm half way through salon bikini treatments & was ready to fork out £1500 for 6 leg treatments my next visit!!! It looks as though I'll be able to treat everywhere for £250! As someone who bought a OneTouch aged 14 & having problems with inherited hairiness most of my life I can't imagine how much my self-esteem will improve after using this. All forms of temporary hair removal give my skin a terrible reaction. I spent last night looking at the reviews for this & feel so positive that it will work. Cheers.0

Could I just ask again if everyone else's machines 'ready' light flashes on and off about 10 times in between each flash of the light? I am kinda worried cause I took my first one back because of this, and can't help but feel that the replacement one I've got is part of a faulty batch as it's doing the same thing. Haven't done a treatment for a good few weeks, need to get myself back into it!0lbs/18lbs to get to club 100

I was reading a post on here the other night where someone mentioned that a salon had messed up the pigmentation on her neck using IPL. I'm guessing that could be why Boots say not to use it on the face. Has anyone had any adverse reaction using this on the face? Any thoughts on this?
I tried this on the armpits yesterday skipping the patch test. I had it set on medium & whilst I felt a slight sting it was definately less painfull than laser, in fact it didn't really bother me. That's a very encouraging sign especially bareing in mind that the first time I used an epilator there it took me 2 days to finish it because it was so agonizing!0
