What happens if you do a patch test and you react badly - can you get your money back?
I think you would not get a refund, but would advise asking in boots before you buy.
I did my 1st session today on my bikini line and underarms, felt some twinges on the centre of my underarms but they were just twinges.
Will need to wait to see results , but as it is not painful, i'm happy to waitCrazy cat lady0 -

I'd sure fight for my money back. I'd say I had a bad reaction and I want a refund. If you get no joy at the first place, try another store or call CS. But it just comes down to the fact that buying this thing is taking a huge risk of your money, and you have to decide if you want to take that risk. It may not work, the hairs may all come back after a few months, anything could happen. It sounds like a lot of people have had good results, so it may be worth the risk. Then there's the risk that in six months it will be marked down to half price or less, and that's a huge loss for those who buy it now. But sometimes you gotta take a chance, because when these things work out, you'll feel it was money incredibly well spent.
There's a group on Facebook called "here come the Boots smooth skin girls" that's all about this product. One woman on there started using it a year ago (I'm guessing she was on a trial) and says she is still hair-free. This sounds really positive, though I'd feel better if there were more people with long-term results like her. There will be for anyone willing to wait until next year to get this, lol.0 -
Hi All you other hairy girls (and guys)
I've missed a couple of weeks due Easter hols and and just not getting the privacy I need to do this. Anyway, just done my third session on bikini line and changed the setting to 'fair'. I didn't notice any more pain except possibly as it gets nearer to the 'undercarriage' region, but I did notice a slight smell of burning hair - mentioned also by someone a few pages back. I didn't get this on the medium setting, but I'm hoping its a good sign.
Also tried it out on my big toes and tops of my feet! - another bit that has always bothered me. It was fine except that you need a very thick layer of gel to get a contact with all 4 pins as the area is not flat.
I was wondering why they called it the 'smooth skin', but now I know as even after 2 sessions on the bikini line I had some lovely smooth bald patches - even better than a few days after waxing. I am so excited that it is actually working.
The only thing is that it is really boring and a bit cumbersome to use (they certainly could improve the design of the bit you hold), so I am only going to work on BL and feet until completely done before moving on to legs etc.
So glad to hear that others who are on sessions 6-7 (more diligent than me) are having really good effects. So far it seems to be worth the money.0 -
I got a bss machine! Just wanted to say that it looks like there is *not* an extra points offer this weekend after all. The staff didn't know anything about it, and I didn't get the extra points on my receipt. But I did use a double points voucher from a mailing from Boots, as well as extra points vouchers from mailings and one I got from the Boots ACM in store.
I also used a voucher for 5 pounds off electrical beauty (from a boots mailing). It worked, but in an odd way -- the voucher doesn't show up on my receipt, but the BSS rang up as 245.05, which means the voucher actually took off 4.94 rather than a full 5 quid.0 -
On reading the instructions, it says not to use the BSS on varicose veins. I don't have those, but I do have a few rather blue, darkish veins in some spots. Does anyone else have that who's used this? I wonder if it's a concern, as the instructions only say "varicose veins", not "dark veins".0

has anyone had professional laser treatment who is able to say if it is as effective?
I had professional laser done on my underarms and its taken ages for the hair to go completely (10+ sessions)
doubtful whether this would last long enough to be effective on me, but it would be a hell of a lot cheaper even if i managed half my body with thisYes Your Dukeiness0 -
I picked up my boots smooth skin yesterday and can't wait to get started, but really busy so wont be able to get started for at least a week, so it hasn't even made it out the box yet. Good to see everyone is still getting on well with it. I don't suppose there is any way of finding out but I'd really like to know roughly how many they have sold!

I'm not sure if its a vein problem or just because its darker there. Whilst using mine on my lower leg I went over a blue /green bruise that was quite big and the machine stopped working and both fault lights flashed. I reset the machine and tried elsewhere and it workd fine. I tried over the bruise again and it flashed and stopped again. I think this must be a safety feature so it can't be used on skin that is too dark it just switches off.0 -
I have had professional laser treat done and had 6 sessions. It was ver very good. Then I became pregnant and due to hormone changes the hair grew back. My mum who had been coming with me continued and she is hair free but she probably spent about £700 and that was for her top lip.
When going over the top lip the pai was a lot stronger because the laser was very close to your teeth and was a bit 'keen' especially if you had filling. If you want any information on laser hair removel the place I went to has a good video and explains the hair removal system well so I guess this theory would also be applied to the Boots system.
This is the website which has the video and some very informative info. http://pureaesthetics.co.uk/TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0
