I'm finding this interesting to read about - but does anybody know how it compares to the Rio system? I know it is supposed to be stronger, but sounds very similar in what it does and how it does it?0

I had 3 weeks of sessions and I thought the regrowth was less - in fact this was before Christmas and I think it is still less...
I really want one now (I had forgotten about it) hmm, can I justify itI'm thinking Yes!
Were you not actually given the BSS after you used it? or was it actually used on you & you couldnt take it home?
How bazarre that they back tracked. I wonder what their decision was based on.Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0 -
i read on another post somewhere that it wasn't that Boots back-tracked, but apparently they didn't do enough tests before launch, and because they're all about safety, they decided not to reccommend it, rather than do so but without full tests..which i guess makes sense..and also is good because it means they didn't not reccommend it because something awful happened to someone. Guess it's a kind of do it 'at your own risk' type thing. As someone said a few posts up though, the white card thing seems to be the safest way to do it. xxx0

I've had my BSS since the end of Feb. I've done 7 sessions on my underarms and, apart from a few hairs that I've missed, I am now hair free! My bikini line is getting balder after 5 sessions and I can see lots of clear patches on my lower legs - I've only done four treatments on my legs so far. I only have to shave my legs just before the treatment as the hair growth is much slower and the hairs are lighter and softer - I used to have to shave every other day! It's much better than waxing as there are no ingrowing hairs, which I used to find a nightmare. The only disadvantage is the time it takes to do the legs - it tends to take me at least an hour to do both lower legs. Still it'll be worth the time commitment if it means I no longer have to shave or wax.
If you do go ahead and buy one make sure you buy plenty of packs of the gel - I'm already halfway through my third pack.
Speaking of time, I'm curious if you or anyone has tried this on the upper legs? How long does that take? Also, I'm a bit worried about somehow managing to shine the light into my eyes while using BSS (and I assume getting the light in your eyes is a big no-no?).0 -
Wow you are having good results from it
As a plucker (not a pheasant pluckers son, but turning into one ) it may take longer. I've never noticed the hair from anywhere ejecting itself yet.
I would like to know that just for example you are hair free after 6 or 7 weeks do you still continue for the full 12 to prevent re-growth ??
Just wanted to add in that if BSS works like laser treatments, it is attacking the root of the hair and killing it so it won't grow back. So anyone using it on your chin, you can't pluck the hairs for awhile because the light travels down the hair shaft to kill the root. You can shave or trim with little scissors or just leave it, but don't pluck. Again, that's only if BSS works a lot like lasers, and I think it does.0 -

Thanks I do realise this. I have always plucked that area as I only seem to have 7 or 8 hairs there and same on each side of lip so it was easy to do. The info on lazer hair removal websites says that if you have ever plucked or waxed it may take longer to work. I am now shaving that area so as it is growing back it seems much worse because they are all growing at the same time !! Its still not slowing down and time to do it again tomorrow.
Growth is slowing in other areas though.0 -
I have been reading these threads with most interest, I have had Salon treatment which worked well but then had a baby. Due to the hormone change I ended up with even more hair.
I would be interested what comments are for those that already own the higher end Rio one. I have bought the top end Rio (£200) and don't think too much too it or am I doing someting wrong with the Rio.
I am quite tempted with this boots one.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0
