In my local store, it looks like they have extended the date. as I looked today, and the date given on the SEL for the reduced price was July 2009 (sorry cannot remember the exact date). The web site still says 5th May.

Typical. I skin myself to buy one of these just before they increase the price......and they change the goalposts. :(

    Hello all,

My mum went home today so I was able to do my test patch tonight. I unpacked the box and read through the instructions again. Applied my gel, charged the set and placed the handset on my skin. But I couldn't get that damn light to go red. So I added more gel and nothing. So I put that handset back in the box waited til it stopped flashing and tried again and bingo it lit up red. I hid my face behind the instruction booklet and screwed up my eye's. I was grimacing expecting it to be painful and pressed the button! Didn't feel a damn thing! I sat there thinking was that it??! LOLOL! So I feel like a plonker now lol. Will keep you posted on how it goes. I aim to do my first treatment on Thursday.

wondering if any one can help me, I bought a boots smooth skin machine when I was in the UK anyway when I got back home & tried the machine, The buttons on the unit light up fine, I hear a zappy noise when using it but I don't see the big camera flash emitted from the handset that has been described by some, Is this normal? Has it happened for any one else? I don't live in the UK so I'm hoping it's not faulty

There should definitely be a flash. It even mentions something about it in the book. Looks like you should phone them and you can send it back for replacement?

Yes - there should be a big bright flash of light - it won't work without it. It must be faulty if you are not seeing this.

By the way, I have just been to Boots this morning and happened to walk past the display stand for the BSS and the price ticket is still showing £249.99, although I suppose it could be that they haven't changed it yet.
