mojt/valli -DH has never ever missed in seven years seeing his boys from his first marriage when he was due to, and I wouldn't let him if he wanted to! I think it helps everyone to have a set agreement from that start of when who has them and when they are available for phonecalls, etc. Also agree about setting dates for holidays etc, and a method for agreeing changes (NOT via the children - unreliable, and antagonistic!).

Hi everyone
Not a great deal of flying being done here today. OH always sorts the kids today so I had a lie in till 12. I've tidied the kitchen, doing the pile of washing that looks like an abstract of everest and I have demolished 2 bowls of HM macaroni cheese with bacon while catching up with the thread. Just some ironing to do and more washing but I'll not be doing much else. Had to go out earlier to get DS2 some new swimming trunks and goggles as he is starting going to the baths with the school on Thursday and he didn't want his friends to see his bob the builder trunks!:rotfl:
It's been 4 seasons in one day here today, sunny at the moment.
Love and hugs to allI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Well I KNOW it's not all daddies - and that's what we agreed - then exOH found talking to me increasingly difficult - it got to the point where it would then take me days and days to pluck up courage to discuss anything with him...he has NEVER taken them for any holiday time and now it's down to a bare minimum of a day a week. He didn't even see them 'extra' at xmas. Funny thing is that throughout this time he has had girlfriends...and there have been no 'uncles' here IYSWIM so THAT has not been a problem and I would have thought that having girlfriends would have made it easier for him - apparently not so. (For the reason YOU posted) but some people could well be jealous, I suppose, of a partners kids. I have had to tell him that HE needs to be the adult.mojt/valli -DH has never ever missed in seven years seeing his boys from his first marriage when he was due to, and I wouldn't let him if he wanted to! Although of course you only get my side of the story...
Our relationship came to a close because he was convinced there was someone else - there wasn't but I was very busy with uni and teacher training...it all went downhill from there really. They are growing into lovely young people - he misses out on so much.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
MOJ2 hugs honey - I for one dont think you are being unfair - if it were me i would be expecting to have them for the DAY not just 2 hours! Like hex says I also think its important that set times/days etc are made and you both stick to them for the children's sake - its not for you or Ex - its whats good for the children and he should realise this. IMHO! hope LO is ok when he gets there.

Am applying for both, within the 4 options - hoping to stay within the SW, but prepared to move if needs be! The Citizenship course is only at a few centres, so choice is limited...I just need to sell myself really well on the application form. It is quite complicated, so I will need to phone on Monday to make sure I am doing it right!
Haven't flown today - visited friend, who has got an agent for her book :j which is really exciting! Got some of the hat knitted during the visit!
Hope all the Crufts bods had a great weekend,
Hugs to all.....:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -
It's going to do something really evil here any minute. This great big slab like cloud has slowly developed over the last half hour. It all went very still wind wise and now it's picking up. I wonder if it'll be hail, rain or snow?
And just as I finished typing that, down came the hail!
I have planted up some tomato and pepper seeds in little trays which are by the aerogarden to germinate. I've also put some carrot seeds in a large pot in the garden (which is on some slabs so it's more than two feet off the ground - that should fox the pesky carrot fly!) and put some radish seeds in another plot. We shall see what happens!
Chicken has just gone in the oven for roast dinner. So I've decided it's wine o'clock - cheers! :beer:I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Valli - I know, you did put not all dads are useless, and I know that some absent parents are terrible, just trying to explain to MOJT just what has helped us to maintain contact - believe me it isn't the 'supportive' behaviour of their mother who treats them like chess pieces in her personal battle with their father. I know form things you have posted before that you don't do that, and that your ex is very casual in his approach to his children. There is some shocking statistic about the % who lose contact within a year, and some of that is obstructive parents with care, and some of it is absent parents who just don't care.
And posting links to Lakeland is very bad. I am sat on my hands now. Step away from the credit card....'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
My apologies to all for the disruptive weather.
I direct sowed parsnips, and sod's law was activated.:rotfl::A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -

My dad's here (working hard on my utility room!), and he's brought me this http://www.lakeland.co.uk/heated-tower-airer/F/keyword/airer/product/21736 from my mum
(I have to admit I was slightly shocked when I saw the price... but it's going to be fantastic as I'll be able to dry everything in the utility room whenever the washing line is out of use). She's also sent me a retractable washing line so I don't have to have mine strung all along the side of the garden when I'm not using it!
Made the butterscotch cake. Filling & frosting went well, but I think the cake batter was too liquid, as it didn't rise or cook evenly. It would probably work just as well with a victoria sponge recipe anyway... and maybe some banana to turn it into a banoffee cake
Can't really do much at the moment, as my dad is working in the utility room and I need to fill the DW before I do anything else, but would feel guilty sitting around doing nothing. Suppose I should deal with some paperwork really...
soappie - I know I've said it before, but try epsom salt baths for the aches and pains. Start with a teacup full and build up each time you have a bath - you have to lie in it and relax for 15 minutes before you wash (personally I only have baths when I'm clean - I wash in the shower), so take a book. Don't drink, though, at least not until you've worked out what effect they have on you! I've just cleaned the local garden centre out of epsom salts :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
