That sounds a bit more positive moj2

    Nice airer Greenbee

I went to the library yesterday to arrange to borrow one of those electricity monitoring meters - you can borrow them for 6 weeks BUT there's a waiting list. Still, borrow one I shall.
Quillion thanks for your pms. Hope the work improves soon but personally I think better that than a total lay off...having said that might be worth checking if you can get any benefits/tax credits - if not now then maybe for the start of the new tax year?

Sorry about setting you lakelanders off - it was in the sunday express magazine - laundry accessories (lovely peg bag :rotfl:) but personally I think 50p for a peg way too expensive - even if they are cute...

wendywitch - you are doing very very well - and its great that your girls have given up some of their stuff too - its a lot easier than you telling them what has to go! re selling the girls' dolls house - why dont you ebay it as a local pick-up only?? then you wont have to worry about postage - oh and I would sell the furniture separately - dolls house furniture goes really well! And the money would help with the bills even if you have to give some to girls!
I would put your one in the attic until you have cleared some proper space and then you can fetch it down to do and hoopefully you can sell some bits to give yourself some pocket money to do it up!
Try giving the main rooms a S&S to allow you time to do your extra jobs so that you dont feel that you are neglecting everything
thats just my ideas of course - And I have been known to be totally wrong so please dont worry if you think I am talking through a hole in my head - thats quite normal!!

MOJ2 that sounds like a step forward and in the right direction - at least you will know that you have those times to do things.

    greenbee lucky lady!!!

Ooh, me too!! Everyone at work thinks I'm strange cos I only drink water!
Everyone I meet thinks I'm wierd cos I only drink water too! I do drink fruit juice and smoothies when I can afford them, but I don't really like hot drinks so never have tea or coffee!

Just catching up on the thread, so hugs where appropriate.

I've had a really nice day today, saw my little friend from my home town - I picked her up and brought her over to my place as it was easier, and we had lots of fun. Played lots of Uno and Triangular dominoes! I also popped in to see mum and dad when I dropped her back. Dad's done his back in, but they are well apart from that and we had a nice chat.

Not done any flying at all, sorry. Will be doing lots tomorrow I hope

Do you want to borrow mine (it's a plug-in one, not a complete monitoring system)? I can post it to you... in fact, if any other flyladies want to borrow it, let me know and I'll set up a waiting list! If Mudbath has finished playing with hers she might feel like loaning it out too.

I'm sorting out my savings at the moment... trying to work out whether I can do my 2008-2009 ISA with the full allowance or whether that will result in a problem in April  It also depends on when I decide to be brave and put a stove in the living room, do the bathroom and the upstairs floors - if I do it soon it's hardly worth putting the money away  I've used up all my accessible savings this year (utility room, bed, deposit for table and generally not making an effort to keep things under control). I'm making up for the years of not being able to afford to do anything, and doing it all at once, but need to make sure that I keep enough in reserve in case of redundancy, and keep saving for when my car needs replacing!

I have a sharesave that matures in June (so please can we have 'share price going up vibes' between now and then ;) ), and I think I'll probably put less in next time and more into instant-access. Plus if the price is good I'll cash in at least half the shares and invest somewhere else.

The good news is that my ethical investments are performing well compared to the others, so hopefully I can slowly move everything over.

And I've just realised... my mortgage overpayments could be considered as savings in the event of redundancy, as I'll be able to have a payment holiday until they're used up, so that helps!

froddy - like you I'm still hoping to meet someone and have a family, but it seems less and less likely each year. And it does mean that I have to know I can support myself without any help if I lose my job!

Ohh, I am going to the Library tomorrow now Valli - I didn't know you could borrow one from there... hope you get yours soon...

MOJ2 - Glad things are still amicable between you both - hope you are able to get things sorted Tuesday, and I agree, taking them out would be great, a little adventure for them. Hope DD is OK now...

Greenbee - I'm very jealous - I've got the normal stand the same as that, an electric heated one would be lovely - can't see you ever plugging it in though with all your energy savings... ;)

Am really tired, so thinking of an early night - nearly fell asleep earlier. Hubby has gone back to work but has promised to ring me in the morning to wish me a good day, but I'll still miss him. it's his birthday too on Friday, but he is coming home for the night then as he finishes at 1.30pm in the afternoon on a Friday - it's just the getting back up at 4.30am on Saturday that's the problem...

Apologies ladies as I have had to shorten and abbreviate names on the stars chart as I was over the character allowance - or so it said!!! - I can only gues that the hearts take up more than one character and we must have a longer list than usual - we havent as many full lists but overall I think we have more people on the list so will have to watch this - I had to delete my basic rules to get your hearts on natty!!! couldnt ahve you not getting your 5 red hearts!
I will give it some thought this week.

I hope those of you affected by shortened names wont be offended.

Freecycler arrived exactly on time :D Dinner currently being scoffed!

rosepink - I do drink fruit juice with breakfast and I have squash sometimes too (and I have been known to have the occasional lager ;) ) If I'm out with someone for 'coffee' I may have a hot chocolate but generally I just have a cold drink.

wendywitch - our local paper has a 'freeads' bit once a week where you can put a short 'for sale' ad for free. That way, you know the people reading are local.

Natty - wow! You've done loads - how are you feeling?
