I hope that's true. We fell in love with our house the minute we walked up the garden path. I can't believe there's no one else like us who wants to buy it now.
What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!
DFD - WAS: a while ago
NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Jenny, stick with it. The fact that you have had a decent number of viewings thru the door means that the asking price must be about right, if it was too high you wouldn't have had the interest in it, too low & it would have been snapped up. You just need to wait for the right buyer, sometimes its the first person thru the door, in others its the 21st. You bought the property with the railway line there, as did the rest of your street.0

We have had one offer which we didn't accept last week and the buyer says he won't go higher. Since then we've had no viewings at all. Someone on this board said that having people view your house but not offer is like going for job interviews and always getting turned down. It's awful!
In 9 months time, if you still have not sold, you may be wishing you had accepted that offer!

Yes that's true although our's is a tad closer than some but you are correct in what you say. the thing that worries me is that after a few weeks wont people start to question why it's not been sold?
this weekend I've had another 6 viewings, one feedback was "beautiful house but too close to the trains
and the other was that the garden wasn't big enough (that I can handle). Still waiting on the other feedbacks. I agree that that price must be right or else we wouldn't have the viewings. 0 -
Whoever said we should keep this thread going is right!
very reassuring reading all your comments. I have a toddler, so keeping the house tidy is a nightmare...we also have a baby due in June, so it seems unlikely we'll be moved by then, as no offers yet, so support is good! So nice to know you aren't the only one going "argh!".Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

aaargh! can only agree with you all. our house has been on the market nearly three weeks now, and only one viewing, and that was someone who hasn't even got their house on the market.
worse still, we had a viewing booked for sat aft, and after spending all morning making sure the house was like a palace, they never turned up,  and more
however, both ladies from the reception at estate agents are comming to have a look round today, which is brill, as then they know exactly whats what, and can push some unique selling points to prospective purchasers (hopefully!)
hugs to all of us in this situation, :grouphug: what will be will be.

gentlepurr - I know exactly how you must've felt at the weekend as I too had a no show  damn right rude if you ask me. However I have let my feelings be known at the estate agents. Fair enough if there was a family emergency but it wouldn't hurt to have made a phone call to save my time hanging around. We've been on 2 weeks and have had about 25 viewings - reckon half of them aren't in a position to move, just want to have a nose around0

I was once selling a property that had 63 viewings before it sold, lots of people said they liked it but not enough to put an offer in. Then we get 2 offers on the same day, vendor thought we were winding them up.
Tip for any body who has viewings booked in more than a week in advance, get the agent to ring the viewer on the morning, or day before, the viewing just to re-confirm times, who they'll be meeting etc. You'll be amazed how many people were just about to ring the agent as theres been a change in circumstances.0 -
I'm totally confused ,I thought you were staying put ,do you have to market it even though your getting a mortgage on your owngentlepurr wrote:aaargh! can only agree with you all. our house has been on the market nearly three weeks now, and only one viewing, and that was someone who hasn't even got their house on the market.
seems a strange thing to have to do
edit to add explained now thanks
can't say I've ever had this problem (viewers not turning up) but I sympathise,it's very rude0
