yes you do get used to it. I've only started to notice them again because I'm selling the house and people ask me :D

The house was valued according to the location - £15K less apparently

Its so frustrating when you keep the house constantly tidy and put so much effort into a viewing, .

Hi Philip. Tell me about it! I'm up early each morning just to make sure it's all spik and span in case I get an afternoon viewing (as I have today) :D
  • My house has been on the market since september.
6 viewings one VERY cheeky offer.
we fell in love with the place as soon as we walked through the door.
But before us it had been on the market for a year.
Hope we dont have to wait a year.
    Messy
  • maybe we should keep this thread going as a sort of support thread and swap hints and tips on viewings.

We have now insisted on weekends only unless someone works all weekend. I dont think that is unreasonable. If someone is seriously looking they must surely make a few free weekends to do so.

Good idea :T these posts do offer support, especially when you know you're not alone!
  • If it's any consolation, our house was on the market for 9 months last year. We had plenty of viewings, a few second ones, but no offers at all. We knew things needed doing to the house but weren't in a financial position to do them, so the price reflected that. The most common feedback was "it needs too much doing", but they should have seen it 7 years ago when we moved in! (No imagination!)

Anyway, we decided to take it off the market, spend what we would have spent moving on a new boiler and a garage conversion to give us extra space. We did the boiler and a builder was due this week to see what was possible.

Out of the blue, this week we had a phone call from our ex estate agent, saying that someone who viewed the house last year had finally sold their house and wanted to make an offer - were we interested?

We said that we would consider any offer and they came back with an offer only £5000 below what we had been asking. We looked around and found a house with everything we wanted and our offer was accepted yesterday (£5000 below what they were asking)

From compromise to house move in less than a week! There is hope!! :j

In my experience, this is typical of EA - lots of mistakes, misleading comments and misrepresentions.
