There seems to be a very large amount of very good hotels so choosing one will be quite difficult.

there are loads to choose from so I would suggest looking for ones that are smaller and have more eating options - going for a hotel which has 700 rooms is all well and good but to get anywhere you have to walk for miles so if you can get something smaller (say under 400 rooms) then you may find it a bit more personal, also, if there are lots of places to eat this will give you a good variety - nothing worst that being in a place for 2 weeks and having the option of 2 places to eat and with Mexico there is no need for this as there are many hotels which can give you lots of options

tripadvisor is also excellent but take it with a pinch of salt as people will always complain but if there are many who are complaining then I would suggest you take note of their issues

OK November 2010 for now what seems to be Mexico, but to complicate matters in what is to be the most expensive year EVER where for February?
We did Cape Verde and I would again, even though there is nothing outside the hotels.
    I'm a pain aint I......lol

Just read your thread and thought I would confuse you even more. 2 years ago we did a tour of Sri Lanka, a week on the Maldives and a few days in Dubai. This was to celebrate our 25th anniversary and it was the best holiday ever. The great thing was that normally you go to one destination and near the end you think - oh no, we have to go home, but apart from Dubai, it was great knowing you were moving on to somewhere else.
In January of this year we went to El Dorado Royale in Mexico for a week and had a great, relaxing time - it is a superb hotel. So as soon as we were back we looked into going next year back to Mexico for 2 weeks.
However, I now feel that unless we were going to do the tour of Mexico first (First Choice) I think it is a lot of money to spend on basically a beach holiday with lots of food and drink, so I am now looking into doing Bangkok, Thai beach, and Hong Kong or Bangkok, Thai beach, and back to Dubai - the prices coming up so far are comparable with 2 weeks at El Dorado, and I think we will have more memorable experiences for our money. Kuoni have a very good website for getting prices of multi destination trips, but you could do it yourself once you have decided where you want to visit - I use www.kayak.co.uk and www.momondo.com to price up the single flights and then will be booking accommodation and transfers separately.

Hope this gives you something else to think about!!

    Best wishes
