  • Just to further confuse matters . . . Malaysia, very easy to travel from there to islands/beaches/nature reserves/cities/jungles. It is beautiful, exciting, friendly and varied. Plus very reasonable to eat and travel once there (no I didn't backpack either)

napal - it's my partner's fav place but it may not give you the luxury that you may want or get from mexico

I really think you need to decide what type of holiday you want as there are no beaches in Nepal

Right, it is now definitely Mexico.
4 or 5 star all inclusive hotel with several different restaurants, not in Cancun but in any smaller resort, however there must be something close to the hotel, bars, restaurants etc. We still want to do day excursions too.
It will be February or November next year, any advice which is the better time of year?

Right time to start ploughing through the brochures.

Just had a quick google, looks like November and Feb are both good times to go. Re the hotel I posted, it is close to Cancun but a smaller resort with plenty to do. Sis went on a couple of excursions as well.
A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition

Well I have to say, there are a huge amount of highly rated hotels, it seems that Mexico is really a good choice.
    OK, back to the research..
