I have to agree that how Dooyoo was portrayed in the recent MSE article was misleading and will inevitably lead to a backlash when writers of multiple substandard reviews find their accounts locked and don't receive any rewards for their 'effort'.0 -

I hate to say this but I suspected this was going to be the case on here due to the complete misinformation given by MSE about dooyoo. Sadly I suspect this will just be the start.
They said they were substandard, despite the majority of them being rated "very useful". I was writing 2 or 3 a day, and for a professional journalist, I don't think that's too demanding!0 -

Just because you got mostly VU ratings isn't an indication your reviews meet dooyoo's criteria.
The vast majority of members are chronic over-raters and you should pay heed to rates you get from guides and some of the more honest raters as a new member.
A lot of people think guides are there to berate them and belittle them but that isn't the case at all - a guide will rate down because they know there is something missing from a review and some will suggest what you could do to improve things.
I don't know what your user name is on dooyoo so I cannot read your work to make any suggestions myself but I would imagine you got lower rates from guides and other members and you have chosen to ignore them and any advice proferred.0 -

I actually didn't get any advice from guides. Also, DooYoo have chosen to leave my substandard work up. I am now enforcing my copyright (as per the terms and conditions) to force them to take it down. If they really are substandard, they will have no problem doing that.0 -
This might be a daft question but do you need to get 20,000 points to get an Amazon voucher? Is it a £20 Amazon voucher? Just read the MSE article that mentioned dooyoo and it's confused me a little bit.
Got my laptop back now so going to write a couple of reviews this weekend and get rating more, I have been rating on my phone but not half as many as I'd like because it gives me a headache after a bit.
I can't imagine writing 40 reviews in 2 weeks, think my head would have exploded! Think happy & you'll be happy

I didn't say you would get any advice from guides, just that some do give it. It was the ratings from guides that should give you an indication that the reviews were less than Very Useful I meant.0 -

You said I ignored advice from guides: "I would imagine you got lower rates from guides and other members and you have chosen to ignore them and any advice proferred."
Which wasn't quite correct.
I was very careful about sticking to the rules - no padding, no copying, well above 150 words in each case, and genuinely useful advice to others who want to make a purchasing decision.
I really feel like dooyoo have gone against the spirit of this. And may I suggest that the reason is that too many people have been signing up and getting close to that £20 Amazon voucher.0 -

Yup its a £20 min voucher these days - was changed fairly recently. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Useful advice does not necessarily make a good review however - advice is not the same as consumer opinion, is it?
I also fail to see what "spirit" dooyoo have gone against - the T&Cs do state they reserve the right to refuse payment for work they consider doesn't meet their standards.
Without being able to see your work I cannot really comment further but suffice to say dooyoo have been inundated with substandard work, mostly from people directed there under false pretences from MSE.0 -

That statement I have to say cannot be based on fact at all. Do you have access to dooyoo's website stats? To see where people are coming from? And what false pretences?? I also personally haven't seen all this substandard work that you're referring to. Maybe your standards are too high?
I heard about dooyoo through MSE but i'm not a bad reviewer. I don't churn, my reviews are always more than 150 words, i've had over 100 rates and only two SU.
Basically all i'm saying is you shouldn't go around blaming MSE because there are people who aren't following the rules. No matter what site you go on, you're always going to find people who don't do things right. Think happy & you'll be happy
