    HI all,

WEnt to fruit shop today and spent £9 on not very much- plums, eggs, bananas, 4 youghurts, cucumber, lettuce, mushrooms, pears, broccoli... ok well s'pose was quite reasonable really, ,lol.

Also went to Mr T for 'a few bits' an spent nearly £30:eek: , not good, had to break into next weeks money. Decided I'm not allowed to go there next week - local shops only!;) Although i might allow myself to go to the Tesco express for milk only cos it's cheapest!

Well, I stand before you slightly confused

I posted my eating plan for the week and decided to shop accordingly. Apart from some tuna and some baked potatoes I was pretty well set for the week. So, how come I've spent a total of £55.42? Don't get me wrong, am grateful I got away with so little given my past history of shopping but I thought it would be way less.

Am just looking at the receipts now and I spent a total of £6.25 on non food items (wipes, razors, tissues, soap, etc), another £8.07 on ad hoc items (2 pan au chocolat, 2 flavoured water for DS and pal, fake trifles that remind me of my childhood, cereal bars and mints for work. So, I actually spent £41.10 on foodstuffs for the week. I must have taken my eye off the ball because I have 1 pot of jam from Aldi and 2 pots of jam from Tesco. I also have 3 big tins of tuna.

Husband has a ready meal for work tonight too and I've plenty of bagels, wraps and cold meat for DS and my lunches so I should be more grateful eh.

    :o OOOPS, forgot bread.

I don't get to come on here too often.
    Too buzy money saving!

  • Just back from MrSs, where I spent £16.01, but £3.10 of it was on a magazine so that doesn't count! It is what they say about don't do yourfoo shopping hungry. Out of the £13 I got very little actual food... lots of fruit and veg and bits and pieces like the wholewheat straight to wok noodles I like and baking stuff.

Overall, I've spent £31.59 this month and am meal planned up till the 15th so I sould be ok. Though tomorrow I'm getting fast food on my half hour break during my six hour driving lesson, so we'll see whether that completely throwsmy budget or not... ah well, I'm going to enjoy it! :)

    Hi,
I can totally identify with that. I've found I'm very good at planning 'meals' and keeping the cost down there and also bake lots for desserts and lunch boxes but then spend loads on other bits of stuff, cereal especially is really expensive and cheese and yoghurt, etc, etc:D

Had hoped for a NSD today, but DD revealled last night that the poor little hamster hadn’t been fed for several days as there was no hamster food left. (It is her pet & her responsibility!) Rummaged around & found some food scraps that were suitable to keep the poor little thing going & bought some more hamster food today.

Have checked what I have in & should be OK for the rest of next week other than milk, which I will undoubtedly need at some point. The week after will need some fresh fruit & yoghurts for DD pack-ups & more milk. So should be OK.

I found 4 very sad looking apples, so I will make some apple muffins or flapjacks or something tomorrow to use these up. And some more Twinks hobnobs.

Thoughts are now turning to ‘April’! There are enough HM ‘ready’ meals for until at least Easter & enough meat & fish in the freezer for at least another month (it is definitely OK to freeze as raw & then cook & freeze as cooked). So am thinking that the 1st shop of next month will be mainly pack-up bits & basics & will re-evaluate in the week before Easter, when DD will be at her Dad’s.

Evening all. Just popped in to catch up and post this week's shops.
Spent £2.11 on grapes, £1.49 on spinach, £2 on bread and £1.16 on yoghurt - that's it!!!!!!!!!!! I can't remember the last time I spent so little in a week :T :T I feel like I should shop but I don't need anything at present. It is strange but I need to stay away from the stores because I know I'll spend money I don't need to.

    Wish me luck, K x

    Morning all :hello:

Welcome to the March challenge Emmsie21! I am doing it weekly too ;)

Did the weekly shop at Tesco's last night, hoping to get some reduced things but not much caught my eye. Only got some reduced ravioli and taramasalata. Wasn't able to check for cheaper items at Iceland in the morning because I'm poorly so I just left it all for the evening.

Got salad veg, frozen veg, onions, potatoes, bisto, frankfurters, corned beef, creme fraiche and poot noodles (for hubby  ).
Total spent: £25.11. Not particularly good as I still haven't got: chicken breasts, pig's kidneys, bread and milk, and some bake-at-home bread... :(

Because we weren't feeling well, we just had sandwiches for dinner, which were lovely. Tomorrow we're having the ravioli. Not sure what sauce I'll make for it, but it's nearly time for a big pot of bolognese so that might be it...

    Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend! :j
