Just popped on to update my spends. I'm doing much better than in previous GC's, normally I have about a fiver left at this point! However have stepped up the payments on my credit cards so the bank balance isn't looking so healthy  swings & roundabouts really. However I shall not starve this month. Have done loads of batch cooking so the freezer is full. Have spent some money on baking tins & a new mixing bowl, but not taking this out of GC money.
Weetabix cake was such a success with the family that I had to make a second one the day after:T Will do the weetabix brownies next. I'm sure they won't even get to cool before they're a gonner.
Back to w**k tomorrow after 2 whole weeks of holidays. Unfortunately I didn't win the £85M on the lottery this week :rotfl:My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!

It is quite amazing how much you can spend on food without realising it. Since really keeping a check on food spend I am being far more careful about what I buy and the price. Haven't been able to find really cheap place locally to buy f&v...yet - there are markets but means driving about 10miles to get there. Will price my 'local' farm shop next weekend.
Managed another NSD today - Friday I thought was going to be a NSD until went to buy the paper in the evening and they had cakes reduced to 10p - so just had to get 2! Oh what the waist line has to suffer in the cause for bargins!!!:rotfl:0 -
It has been a busy weekend. I was at college yesterday and the boys were all at different places today playing rugby. I am really missing my oven and grill. I fried sausages today and I hated them. My total is creeping up. I think I may well be over again. It is a learning curve and even if I am slightly over, it is a lot better than before I joined the challenge.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

good evening...hope all are well...weve had a nice day morning at the park and afternoon at families for a very nice tea....it always tastes so much better when someone else cooks it
we had leftover chicken in white sauce for lunch with a baked potato ...it was nice...potatoes baked in the remouska are very nice and it saves having to put the oven on
i thought up a nice pudding yesterday...we had various fruit that needed using up...red and green grapes..apples tangerines couple of bananas...i chopped them up and melted a bar of tesco 23p chocolate....spooned the chocolate into ramekins and gave everyone a bowl of choc a selection of fruit and a small fork ( toaid dipping) and the family thought it was great...reasonably healthy if u overlook the chocolate
bye for now

Evening all. Just back home from a nice weekend away. We took all are own food (in our own caravan) so it was very cheap -in fact, now it is 8 NSDs in row:j :j DH wanted to travel light and not go to much fuss and I must admit I was tempted to take very little food and supplement with eating out or takeaway -but so glad I didn't now (couldn't really afford to do that anyway). I am about to check stock cupboard and freezer as I must admit we are eating things as fast as I make them. Also we have DS2 coming to stay with us again for 4 days this week. He has recently slipped down some stairs and injured is foot really badly, we are still waiting to find out if it is actually broken because he went to his GP instead of A&E and the results take 7-10 days:eek: (bit daft now if he has to have his foot plastered after struggling for the past week!) Sorry going off topic a bit here, but anyway, another adult mouth to feed for a bit, so I'll need to get cooking again. Have a good evening everyone!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Well after missing my February budget completely and utterly, due to a combination of a couple of meals at a cafe and general overspending, I am being ultra frugal this month in order to get to my £280 target.0

Just a quick update to say that Sat and today have been NSDs :j . My menu got altered at the last minute today when DD2, partner and twin DGDs came for dinner (not that the babes ate southern fried chicken LOL) Still a groaning freezer can be a godsend with my lot who love to come visit but never give notice  .
elizabunny how did you manage 8 NSDs in a row. That should be my new goal :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Well done you!!
I'll need to go out tomorrow for milk, biscuits for dogs and cats, salad and wine:o All the essentials covered there then LOL.Dor0 -
Ooh I'm so late to this month's, I've lost a bit of willpower in the shopping department lately. Was over for Feb & already this month I've spent £78.43 with over 2 weeks to go so fingers crossed
MRS MC could you still put me down for £120 please, I'm sorry I've left it late this month :ADFW Nerd 1038 - Debt 08/2008 £4068 - Debt Now £400Santander CC £400 [STRIKE]Tesco CC £622.69[/STRIKE] £0 :j2010 Wins:0 -
Well after saying I didn't need anything and vowing to stay away from the supermarkets, I managed to spend £4.86 today! I called in the local shop and they had muller light yoghurts at 29p each. As they are £2 for 4 at Asda this is a big saving so couldn't miss them - bought 10, which should last me all week.
Will try harder tomorrow:xmastree:Merry Christmas0
