Hi could you put me down for £220 in march too. £70.20 already spent
jackiegibbo, i am trying £220 each month and struggling. I wondered how many were in your family. We are 3 adults and one senior cat. Occasionally we entertain family, about once a month0 -
good evening...its march:eek: thats come round quick.....i was planning a nsday but popped into sainsburys and they had reduced the meat on the raw meat deli counter.....i got some lovely (had it before)streaky bacon that is lovely cut up in quiche or pasta (or in a bacon sarnie)for the princely sum of £1 a kg so got 3 lots...now in freezer box....also happy chicken fillets...new to me i didnt know they did chicken ...i got enough for a curry for 4 of us for 50p...so result...i spent £1.75 in total but got a lot
we had a hm shepherds pie for lunch ...every component was reduced so that was all good....i seem to be cracking the savoury stuff but i need to work on puddings....always an after thought and today couldnt find a damn thing in the house...oh well must try harder on that front
have a nice evening

Mr T delivery came in at £110 so thats a hefty chunk gone already, I need to get my meal plan finished - it really worked last month
I have a bursting freezer and stocked cupboards, but I seemed to have forgotten the cereals and a few other bits so I might do another small delivery shop once I have meal planned.

Started with a big shop, or rather a series of little ones LOL. Visited Aldi, Holland and Barrett, Iceland, MrA and MrS:rolleyes: . But I had done some research and bought at the best prices (except onions at Aldi, 1 of the super six were 69p, only 24p MrA smartprice  )
Spent £83.32 from GC budget and £12.00 from stockpile money for Stardrops (x4 @ 50p MrA) saag balti sauce (2 for £2.00 x 2 @ MrS) and tea (PGtips 2 @ £3.00 @ MrS)
So, happy with what I've got even though it's a chunk of the budget at a very early stage. To think I would have spent at least this without thinking just before Xmas, and expected to have to top up within a few days
All meal planning done for the month, with a few either/or days for weekends when DGS visits. Most food in except for fresh veg, bread and milk (oh and I forgot rice) Keeping up with everyone's postings. Please keep them coming, you are all an inspiration :T :T

Did my first shop of the month spending £71.88, or rather MrT delivered
My budget has gone up this month to include cleaning items, toiletries, booze and medicines rather than just food as in previous months.
This month I'll be using my slow cooker a lot more as I'm trying to get a nice amount of HM "ready meals" in the freezer for an easier time when baby arrives. So I'll be cooking ragu, savory mince, lamb with lentils, chilli and anything else that looks nice that I find  . With the ragu, chilli and savory mince I find I can make 5 x 3 meal size portions in one pot so my freezer should be looking full quite soon.
Good luck to everyone :beer:0 -
Been and done the 'big shop' yesterday and then a trip to Sainsbugs this morning for 'whoopsies':D Spend so far is £62.37, freezer and cupboards are full so apart from loo rolls (sending OH to Superdrug tomorrow) I shouldn't need anything else for a while.
One of the guys at our allotment has given me a tray of plums:eek: I've made jam with 4lbs of them and reckon I've still got about 10lbs left........I see a lot of plum crumbles coming up!!
Plums at this time of year? Well done you....enjoy! I am wondering if I will need to make any jam or chutney this year. I seem to have loads left still. But hey hoo! :TI don't get to come on here too often.

Redmel1621 - If I make a double quantity of lasagne I tend to freeze the meat sauce in one tub, the cheese sauce in another and then assemble it with the lasagne sheets when I want to eat it. I've got quite a few spare pyrex dishes that I use to freeze extra cottage pies etc and I've picked these up in charity shops or at car boot sales You might be lucky and find lasagne dishes too.
Scotsaver - Just wanted to ask how you cook the whole chicken in the slow cooker? Do you season it or brown it at all? Do you just put it straight in the slow cooker or do you add any water? How long do you cook it for?
March is off to a good start for TheBees. Spent nearly £25 in the butchers on loads of meat that's gone in the freezer and then £120 odd in Mr T:eek: . But at long last the cupboards and fridge are full and I've meal planned for 15 days. Had 2 NSD's this weekend and should be another one tomorrow which is a miracle for me!Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
