Might have been my imagination, but when I turned into Bletchley Tesco yesterday I think I spotted a B&M Home stores banner over the old MFI/Lee Longlands unit next to Matalan which might be interesting, didn't have time to look though!

Yeah, we saw that on Saturday as we drove past..... I give it til just after Xmas before it closes down.

    Hi

Does anyone know of someone that does Sofa repair? Specifically I am looking for someone that will dismantle and reassemble a sofa? Moving house soon and looks like the sofa will need to come apart if it will fit.

    Thanks

    :)

Suggs....it may be worth contacting a removal company to see if the sofa will fit into your new place (or out of your old place) in one piece (maybe cheaper than dismantling and repairing?).

you'd be amazed what a couple of hefty blokes who move furniture around full time can squeeze through small doors by twisting and tipping the item (as we found out recently).

    hope this helps

Removing a window frame can often provide a wider opening to remove a sofa if one is needed....
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Thanks, not sure if it fit even if it was twisted, the depth is wider than a door even if turned on its side :D

What space have you got either side of the door to manouvre? I'm wondering if you up end it so it then has an L shaped 'footprint' if you can twist it through that way.

Re removing windows, I have no idea of the cost I'm afraid, my ex husband used to do it all the time for their customers, so it's not too hard (not sure about todays H & S though).

When we moved into our top floor apartment, we hadn't even considered the fact that our four-seater sofa wouldn't fit. We (and by "we", I mean our removal men! ;)) managed to get it halfway up the stairs but couldn't get it any further due to angles. The removal men were brilliant. They figured out how to take one arm-end off the sofa, which allowed them enough room to squeeze it all the way into our living room. They then reattached the end - good as new.:j
I was extremely grateful because we'd only had the sofa about 6 months at that point!

Gaz - come back with a review, assuming you've been fine today! I really need to book myself an appt and am still deliberating!

Lamewolf - ty for the recommendation, I will give them a ring!

ETA: I rang Hastings Maintenance - they no longer exist and have given up the business. Oh well, more recommendations sought!

Sorry, I only just noticed this.

I'm very nervous of the dentist but they were really good. She talked me through everything, and the second I wanted her to stop all I had to do was raise my hand and she'd stop straight away. She didn't rush me and it really felt like she cared that I was nervous. I highly recommend them :D
