does anyone know of a cheapish car wash in mk / stony stratford area. either a hand car wash of the diy at petrol stations, just to get all the salt crud off my car. whats the going rate anyway? theres one at furzton but its a tenner :-( :-( :-(0

We use the one next to the petrol station almost opposite the Saxon Bridge car place on Stratford Road in Wolverton (next to I think it's a Murco petrol station). About £5 for a small car, £7.50 for a 4x4 (or was last time I went, might've gone up). It looks as if another hand car wash has opened up next door, but we have no complaints about the one under the yellow canopy; hard working lads who are polite and careful with cars. My car looks out of place next to the Beamers/Mercs that go there.0

if your near the city centre theres a texaco on the fishermead side of the city centre on the H6 - do a basic wash & wheel wash used to be 99p, then went up £1.49 and last time i went was 99p again so dunno how much it is now, i use it alot in the summer when the car is all sticky from the trees0 -
Can anyone recommend a bathroom fitter? (someone who won't insist that I buy my stuff through them).
I've previously recommended someone on here but I'm looking for quotes for my cloakroom and would like to get several people in to quote for the job.
Can anyone suggest someone they've used or know?
You might not be looking anymore but I know someone ultra reliable I use as a landlady - very competitive on price and even works weekends at week rates which is a real bonus for those that dont want to take time out of work. Let me know if youre still interested x0 -
Thanks MadKitty, but I'm all sorted now; I tried a few local (used MyBuilder.com and had lots of responses) - but my original bathroom fitters came out cheapest, so I used them again.0

Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Hi,
just a warning... if your car is in any way 'unusual' don't go to Mr Clutch.
I have a citroen with hydractive suspension, I went there today to get the brakes checked out. They didn't 'set' the suspension when they jacked it up and as a result the suspension is knackerd!
Off to Pilling tomorrow to see what they say about my suspension. I have a feeling I won't see any of the money to fix it...
does anyone know if I have any rights with regards to this?

Thanks for the headsup - I was going to use these but will now be using the boys in Wolverton adjacent to the Murco Garage. Playground recommendation and also on here too.
Now I just need to get the suspension (need to go to dealer s it's someone's fault *cough* Mr Clutch*cough*) and brakes (going to try National round the corner from Perry's, Bletchley or Arden Park) fixed on my Citroen and I'll be happy.

Mount Farm Motors 2000 in, unsurprisingly, Mount Farm. (no website - they're on Yell.com etc though).
Take my motor there for everything - totally honest people. Took it there yesterday with a list as long as my arm of worries, they checked it all out (suspension included), told me they could find nothing wrong (when they had liberty to charge me for anything). Total cost of my trip for about 5 things to be checked: £22.
I highly recommend them, and am in no way affiliated; just a very happy customer. Been using them for about 3 years now.0 -
Does anyone know of ladder hire that does home delivery locally please? I've looked on Jewson and HSS websites and they say they do it but not how much. A friend is fitting a satelite dish for me at the weekend (then I'll be able to move into the digital age) so we need it by then.
Thanks
