For Chinese I can recommend the Royal Emporer in Bletchley on the corner of Tavistock Street and Victoria Road. Food isn't cheap, but excellent quality and very friendly good service. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Hi guys, wondering if you could help me -I've had my hair cut a few times by a great mobile hairdresser called Melissa, but I can't for the life of me remember her number! Her prices are great, so I'd like to stick with her, but can't find the number. Has anyone else had their hair cut by her?0

Need a fireplace consultant, a new fire, thinking about installing a new solid fuel burner, or even a chimney sweep in MK?
Just to let you all know that MKFireplaces offers a free site survey if you are within a 20 mile radius of Milton Keynes. Mark is such a nice helpful guy and really the time spent discussing it with him saved me a small fortune in the end as I was going at my planned new chimney all the wrong way!!! Call him on 01908 566 944

Anyone know of a mobile fish and chip van that would be willing to come to a party and serve there? I have tried our local van (Howe & Co) but they aren't willing to be particularly flexible (I need to tell them in advance exactly what everyone will be eating which just isn't practical in the situation and a few other bits).
All I am looking for is a van that is willing to serve food to about 75 people and be there for about an hour (or less if they can do it quicker!).

Just on the off chance that this person reads MSE - I would like to say a huge thank you to the person who handed my handbag in at Tesco Bletchley and didn't take anything from it first. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

That's very impressive... and lucky! I bet you were surprised.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
I had a not so good experience at the redhot world buffet. Found most of the food over-cooked (despite it being early evening). Can't deny there was something for everyone - but it was of a pretty mediocre quality.
I would look at a restaurant that specialises eg the Jasmine Cottage in Oldbrook for Chinese, or the Kam Tong in Great Holm. The Carrington Arms in Moulsoe is really good. All the restaurant in the Hub are pretty good.
I also love Nandos -lots of atmosphere, but a bit difficult to make a night of it there.
Is Kam Tong the place that looks like a chinese temple ... ?
Or am I confusing Great Holm with somewhere else nearby ... ?CARPE DIEMaut viam inveniam aut faciamBe sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour0 -
Kam Tong is the one that's on the edge of Lodge Lake on Great Holm. It's lovely - both decor (especially when it's daylight and you can look out over the lake) and for food.
We still haven't been out for that meal (my son's 18th, which was Saturday) as he wasn't in the mood for a meal out on Sunday - probably down to the amount he had to drink the night before. So, it's probably Thursday. He was still keen on the Jaipur until I mentioned he wouldn't be able to wear his jeans and trainers... so back to the drawing board. I can see we'll end up at Pizza Hut or somewhere like that at this rate.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
