am looking for a cheap way to get started on mobile phone ladder!
nokia 7600 route was recommmended at 4.99 month - this is contract on 3 and out of stock
wondered about reconditioned on virgin mobile site - any experience?
it's a minefield for a beginner
want to text and make a few calls so don't need best phone - but don't want a cheap piece of kit that will break0 -
Have been with virgin mobile PAYG and my usage varies between £2.00 £7.00 per month worth considering.0
-
costs me £5 every six + months on vodaphone all calls.0
-
Don't know if this is cheapest - but, after some searching, I decided it looked good...
for £99.99 I get a MOTOROLA C651 on the virgin mobile hassle free package
Includes a joining pack with SIM, a Motorola handsfree headset, battery, charger and free delivery (24 hours).
Hassle free package offers:
£75 airtime including £10 free airtime for buying online, and £5 free airtime loaded onto the SIM. Plus 20 mins & 30 texts to ’any UK network’ each month for 8 months - equivalent bundle price £60.
There are 2 other phones on this package - Philips 355 at same price and Sony Ericsson T610 at £119.99 but with more 30 mins & 60 texts / month
Once you’ve bought your package, it’s yours to do what you like with – there are no monthly instalments, no line rental, and no ongoing hassles.0 -
VIRGIN are very good for customer service and there plans, however there is a 5p minimum charge being introduced soon but is shouldn't really affect many people. Am looking for a new phone myself at the moment but am deciding wether to stay with Virgin and buy a phone for about £70 - £100 or move to one of the offers I have seen on MSE with free or half-price line rental including calls for a year. However can't fault Virgin I even used it while we were in NZ for texting and calls home - bill was about £70 for 4 weeks of calls.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0

Chalkie wait until after Christmas as Virgin will have more reconditioned phones with their 28 day returns policy. All the unwanted pressies will be coming back then0

Philips 355 on Virgin only £59.99 in ASDA. With £5 on the sim.0

good advice - I want my phone before xmas - however if something goes wrong I will consider that option
moto c651 should arrive tomorrow
re: 5p /minute min charge - i get 20 mins free / month - don't intend going over that, mainly text and short calls so should not effect my costs I hope
:-)0 -
forgot to mention - went via rpoints so will get 2.5% of the £99.99 back ... :-)0

I read on here somewhere the Nokia 3510i is only 29.99 now from a few places like virgin and dixons and the like. Good phone.
