Wow - it's been ages since this was posted on!

Anyway - The Leisure pool at Byker, Newcastle has half price entry for a person with a disability and admits TWO carers for FREE!!

Lightwater Valley (now closed but keep it in mind for re-opening) charges half price entry for a person with a disability and half price entry for TWO carers as well.

  • Good Food Show. Pay for the disabled person but carer goes free.

  • Does anyone know if there are any concession rates for entrance into Disneyland Paris? I know this is very unlikely considering the initial cost of entrance and have had a good look on the website with no luck, but thought someone would be able to let me know. Much appreciated. Thanks.

There weren't any concessions for Disneyland Florida (we went last year). Most rides have the same entrance for people with physical disabilities as non disabled people. For those with entances with stairs etc, there are wheelchair entrances. If a ride has the same entrance for disabled as non-disabled, you can still get a free 'fast pass' to use a different entrance and avoid the long queues.

To qualify for a free fast pass, the person with a disability must find it difficult or impossible to stand for long periods of time. For instance, a person in a wheelchair doesn't qualify on the grounds of just being in a wheelchair as it doesn't make a difference to them how long they are waiting in a queue because they are sitting anyway. But someone who uses a walking aid or has a condition such as ADHD, Aspergers or Autism will qualify because they will find waiting in a queue difficult or impossible.

Our daughter uses a wheelchair but didn't qualify for a pass because of it, but as she has poor concentration and gets nervous in crowds, we got a free fast pass for our party. The free fast pass covers up to 6 people in your party (well it did in Florida)

Especially for non immediatley obvious conditions, such as those on the autistic spectrum, it's best to take proof of the disability and a letter from their doctor.

Best to contact Disneyland Paris (either via website or phone) and ask. Seems to change all the time, my friend went earlier this year with 2 severely disabled children and nothing was available, but someone else went recent;y and got free entry for carers. Best arranging it before you go.

~Must also add some of the offers on here may have changed as some were posted over a year ago, well worth enquiring before going places. I know a lot of leisure centres now offer carers in free for swimming instead of the half price they used to.
One day I might be more organised...........

It has to be the highest rate for mobility (you don't say if it is mobility or care he recieves the highest rate for). Click HERE for all the info you need. The link will help you to find your local authority.
