  • Hearing what other people's little ones have managed to do is reassuring to me and allows me to brace :D

Little bear's high chair was one of those that come apart into a table and chair. It hasn't been used as a high chair since he showed how easily he can get out. Just before tea he showed me a strut that has come off the table part. I have no idea of how he got it off, and I'm not sure that I can get it back on... As the table is something he uses a lot (drawing/climbing/turning over and climbing through/crawling under) I am going to have to work on it.

Also an OS success. I tried the carrot and mint soup from the index and dear heart loved it! He even added a dollop of it to the beef stew he had tonight. It will be frozen for him to take into work, and he will have gloat points. This site is really helping me, because I would never have considered doing this before. I even used the blender!

Hester - I hope you enjoy the training course. Perhaps when you are not there they will appreciate how much you do. The 'vampire' thing made me laugh!

Little bear's good night hugs to all his virtual family is sticky with grape juice as he had grapes for dessert.

    Hugs to all.

  • Hi All!

Just a quick one (ooh-err!) as Mr A has just delivered my groceries (be glad when my car back on the road - fingers crossed for Sunday).

Not stopped since I got in from wo*k....Sausage rools cooked to take to friend's house later (skint housewarming - drinks & BYO nibbles!)HM pizza in oven, DH hair cut & beard trimmed, Catflap fixed and FurryBaby brushed & fed dish of new tuna-in-jelly catfood (just arrived in the Asda delivery - on offer of course!), DW emptied & half-filled again.....got to sit down for a mo' before I collapse!

Hope everyone had a good day. I'm looking forward to the OS meet tomorrow, although bit nervous being out on my own (where did all my confidence go?!?) and meeting new people.....sue it will be OK though when I get to know them - like minds & all that!

    (((HUGS))) to all,

    FE

  • Evening everyone.

Another busy day and I am really looking forward to a quiet weekend.

Made a great bacon and mushroom quiche for tea and the children asked for second helpings. :j They have never been fans of quiche before but this one went down a storm.

I pottered in the garden for a while before the rain came on and made a start on clearing out the shed in preparation for Dh to reorganise it tommorrow. It will be a DIY weekend hopefully. The children have a party at noon and then their granny is visiting and has offered to take them to the cinema.

I have lots of mending to do tonight so will get stuck into that after DH has finished the childrens' baths and then may open a bottle of something lovely. ;)

    happy birthday to crazychick.

Kind thoughts to all in need.

PS... How do you put someone on ignore?? I have heard that it is possible and there is one particular MSEer whose posts I would rather not read again as they drive me batty.

Enjoy the rest of your evenings!!!

Thank you donny-gal, I think I agree with you.

But while I have appointments to get to I have to get little bear out of the house and use the buses. Dear heart has managed to get the time off for little bear's first speech therapy appt, but the other times it is two buses!!!! And I am sure I can do it, it is just making myself go. So there is a good side.

Good luck with the speech therapy - dgs(4) was recently referred by his teacher who can't understand a word he says apparantly. well he chatted away very nicely to the lady who understood every word he said and marked him top in all of the "required elements". we thought that we maybe understood him better than outsiders but now think that the problem lies with the teacher - she's left now and his new teacher doesn't seem to have a problem understanding him.

Anyhoo have bunged Weekend Chicken in the oven to do it's bit - just me and dd(23) this weekend so it should last. dd(12) has gone off with Mr Caring Sharing who is mostly on a fitness kick this week. She has been promised a weekend of cycling and swimming - she has said she might go as far as sitting in the swimming pool cafe with a book but that's it! if it wasn't for the fact that a 12 mile solo hike is on my agenda for tomorrow she might have been tempted to stay home :D i can't read a map, tell my left from right or use a compass so this should be fun.

I have banned dd(23) from using the WM as she has once again washed some of the towels with chemicals (i only use soap nuts) so I'm back to doing her washing again :( to be honest i prefer this as she tends to do more than can be dried properly at a time and makes piles of her wet washing all over the place

Well the rest of the evening will be spent having a house blitz and making a packed lunch for tomorrow - hope you all have more interesting things to look forward to

click on the person's name, scroll down the list to view public profile and then once you're in that you can add to ignore list. Of course if a lot of people refer to stuff that person has said then the thread might be a bit baffling and you might see bits that are quoted. Hmm unless I'm the ignoree and you've figured it out already in which case you won't see this message

Oh <<<<Turfy>>>>, sorry to hear about your DH's news.
we lost someone very dear last January at almost the same age. She'd had an aortic anneurysm, (sorry for wonky spelling) with no warnings at all. No history of issues at all. It still doesn't make any sense . Probably never will.

big hugs to everyone who needs it today, for whatever reason.
