Hey Blondie - how you doing dude!? Hmm phone calls - I hate making them at the best of times (unless its to my mum!) so I can imagine THESE particular phone calls are a bit horrible. Get the malted milks in, make all the calls and then enjoy a cup of tea and dunk the biscuits. That would be my advice;)

Loopy - what a horrible time you've had - glad that you are back home now and able to enjoy your little one properly.

Well my weekend ended up being slightly stressful - too much going on - but I did (of course) enjoy the rugby (mmm Martin J) - and I even got a Mothering Sunday present! This is unheard of! So a big :T to the eldest rugrat!

    Morning!!!!

I LOVE all the cat pics!!!!!! I took a really funny one of Marmite this weekend which i will post today.

Felt a little bit poo at the meal as my sister had invited her OH's family too and all they kept going on at me about is the recession and how i should take any job etc. I kept telling them i would take any job but that didnt stop them taking AT me, not TO me.

Ive got a bit of a crap day ahead, going to the P office, then i have to ring all my creditors and tell them they can only have token payments until i get a job. I am NOT looking forward to it!!!

Looking foward to Marmite pics :D

And as for your sisters OH's family- it's non of their business so they should just keep their traps shut! Raspberries to them :p

And I know ringing all those folks is gonna be hard, but at least things will seem better when it's all sorted.
    *hugs*

Hi Blondie - re your lunch out and people talking about the recession and aiming remarks at you: Yes, I was on the receiving end of this when my last contract ended, and it drives me nuts - suddenly, people think they can say what they like about your future and your job. I don't understand it myself. Plus, you are so obviously motivated, its a pity they felt the need to comment. I have to say Blondie and ladies, that almost two months into unemployment, my motivation has taken a nosedive. W e have alocal paper which usually has 6 to 8 pages of jobs in it. Last week there were 5 "jobs" if you can call them that - I would rather lick the pavement clean for a living than do some of these so called "jobs" - eg door to door cold selling etc,

I hope all goes well with your phone calls.

Loopy - hope you are feeling better today - keep your strength up!

    Hi all

Blondie - I sympathise with the recession and barbed comments thing... My MIL was on her best behaviour yesterday but we still felt like we had to reassure her that with me losing my job we wouldn't have to move in with her - bless!

Rosered - It may be that you have lost some of your faith in applying for jobs - I have been looking for work while employed for 2 months now, I finish the end of this month - no luck yet either... I too looked at the local paper - there were less than half a page of jobs and none were suitable... I think most people are starting to wake up to the fact that there are going to be a lot of people out of work who are genuine about finding their next one...

It is hard to keep the faith though... but keep your chin up and set yourself some kind of job hunting goal and some kind of fun goal - and do a bit of both to keep your spirits up - feel free to quote this back to me in a few weeks time LOL!

Loopy hope you and baby are doing well....

Hi Savingholmes - that is great advice and I will take it. I have lost sight of my goals, and you're so right about having something fun to look forward to! That is also missing. Thank you :)

    Afternoon everyone!

Had a wee catch up on Friday evening at my mum's but don't have a computer at home. Love all the cat pics :D

Had a rubbish weekend, OH was on standby on Saturday and working Sunday which is just as well cos I ended up with a 24-hour flu, all shivering and feeling sorry for myself. Couldn't make it to mum's yesterday for Mother's Day but going tonight and got a couple of days hols this week, at last something to look forward to.

Blondie, keep your chin up with the jobs, you could just take any job, but would you be happy - probably not!

Just had haggis, tatties & neeps for lunch, I have no willpower :o but just about to pay some bills so need to keep my strength up, ha!

It's not quite along the same lines Blondie, but I spent the weekend being grilled by my (skinny) family about what I'm doing about my weight. The first thing my brother said to me (after 'hello') was 'Hey mum tells me you're joining a gym!' Indicating my weight had been the topic of conversation in their household prior to my visit.
How is it possible for your mother to heavily hint that you really should be getting back on Weight Watchers asap and in the next breath ask if you'd like some crisps or nuts to nibble while the pizza cooks!?

Anyway, just needed to vent. Happy Monday everyone! :j :j
