I would totally try to sort yourself out rather than rely on an agency. Companies will always go for the cheapest option, especially in the current climate! I know it's a bit sneaky but what about when the agency contacts you about a position at such and such company you say you are not interested- but then contact them yourself? So the company doesn't have to pay a fee, you may look even more enticing! Just a thought-don't know if it would work
ps. interestlingly, the position I am waiting to hear if I got or not (a year down the line :rotfl:) was a recruitment agency. Says something doesn't it when they can't even respond to applicants to their jobs!0 -
Thanks ladies.
Its just so frustrating, i guess im panicking today. It really knocks your confidence as you cant help but think their is something wrong with me???
I've had another row with Sparky too, i was upset and called him to tell him about the job and he yelled at me and put the phone down. Serious troll behaviour. I texted him asking him why hes being so mean and he said 'putting the phone down isnt mean'. !!!!!!???!!! Im on the verge of smashin his head in.
Promptly told him that us 'making a go' of things is not working and told him to leave me alone.
Seriously having a shocker for a day aren't i?
Ive found three jobs on Guardian jobs to apply for so will do that today. If i have another one of my friends email me saying 'DO TEMP WORK' i might actually explode all over the (now clean) kitchen floor. Ive told every agency im willing to do temp work, as as there are so many qualified temps out there im at the bottom of the pile.
ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
*screaming to try to release anger so not to explode*
Might have to sink low enough to put Enrique Iglesias 'I will survive' song on.

Im never going to get a job.
Course you are! It's just tough times at the moment. You've obviously got the skills and a great CV if you're getting interviews. Just remember, each one is a step closer to getting a job.:T
Righto, that's the sensible stuff out the way. I'm sprawled out on the floor with my kitty, Jasper (who is doing his best impression of a starfish) and trying not think about food. Damn, too late, I'm off to eat something - what do you call a meal between brunch and lunch? Maybe it could be delayed elevenses...LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

OMG, tell me about it! I know I shouldn't laugh, but you have do have a way with words *confidence boost alert* I was made redundant just before Christmas (nice!) and I swear my friends think I'm just sitting around in my dressing gown, stuffing my face and watching daytime TV and it's JUST NOT TRUE! Well, not entirely true...LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Hi Blondie and the ladies.
Just popped in to say hello. I am having a day a bit like yours - where are all the jobs?! I agree with the others about recruitment and temp agencies - I fear a lot of them are like parasites, so I avoid them - I want to go to the organ grinder direct - not the monkey!
I haven't been on here to chat with you and the ladies for a few days - real money trouble is looming, so I'm not feeling very positive- arghhh - I wish I could just take my younghusband and wait out the recession in Cyprus or somewhere like that. RR XXXX0 -

Hiya Rosered. Know exactly how you feel. Have no idea how to pay the bills. If you get a flight to cyprus i will be on that plane next to you. (hiding under the seat so not to pay the air fare).
