Recruitment Agencies are rubbish, I used to be signed up to some and at least two of them NEVER EVER got in touch with me about jobs. They are a good way to get in the door though, so keep your chin up and I'm sure something will come out of it. As you said some people actually want to work!

  • You ARE Blondie, i know it sucks at the mo, but maybe your not getting these jobs for a reason, your 'perfect' job is just around the corner and its waiting for you! Anybody else believe that things always happen for a reason??? or is it just me :D

When i was looking for a job last year i found recruitment agencies rubbish, never ever phoned or emailed me with jobs available, it was me always doing the work, which wasn't right i thought. So, i bought every local paper every week and found my own job - felt good as the recruitment company didn't get a penny :rotfl:

    Chin up chick....!!!

I agree, look back at your first post only three weeks ago and see just how far you have come. You won't slip under that dark cloud again, not with all the support and laughs on here :D

As for snoring, two weeks ago I ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor of a hotel room, after my friend (we were out for her birthday) decided to snore ALL night AND she was sleeping on her side - still not recovered!

I love this thread- we just keepgoing off on random conversations like cat names and snoring. Are we all just a bit crazy? I think so :)
  • Staying on the snoring subject, I was woken up last night by my OH trying to roll onto my side of the bed whilst snoring. I gave him a good jab in the ribs.

And in true crazy-cat-lady form, my cats woke me up later on in the night because they were both "loafing" (that's what we call the classic cat pose of folding their front paws under themselves - they look like bread  ) on me purring as loud as they could. Cat snoring I call it, how inconsiderate at 3am!

Recruitment agencies are annoying. I work in a place where most of our staff are supplied by agencies and they are SO RUBBISH! If somebody doesn't fill their timesheet in, we don't pay them, and it takes the agencies weeks to realise and try to get the money off us. They blantantly don't care.
Sorry that doesn't help with the positive attitude does it!
The 'buying the local papers for job adverts' idea sounds good though, no messing around with agencies at all :j
