Bob1000 wrote:I bought the v171 today and sure enough it went through £49.97. When I tried to do a R&R they said it was only £39.97 if I spent over £50. I said that is not what it said on the leaflet and he would not budge.
The they said they did not have it anyway and said they would have to refund me but obviuously as they did not have the product i could not have it anyway.
I think they were lying but cant prove it. has anyone complained to head office about this and what happened?
happened to me, got an r&r and then used the excuse that they were out of stock even though there were 2 cases on the shelf, as i couldnt prove it i had to walk away empty handed. i complained to head office and basically they said tough, if its not in stock nothing they can do, i asked if it came in stock could i collect it then and they said no !!!0 -
Picked up a V171 today from my local. Leaflets galore on the mobile section in there. There was a hand written sign under the V171 display stating that the leaflet price was a misprint, but no other price was shown. R&R given without any problems. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Got a pack of chicken breast fillets today and had to deal with the snootiest CS person!!! This was in the Broadstairs T Extra. The SEL clearly stated 5.98 per kilo but it had 6.48 per kilo on the label. I paid and took it to CS where I was told that it wasn't a misprice as I had been charged the £4.11 on the label. I was then told that the SEL was a "guide" and to disregard it completely as it doesn't really mean anything. I asked why they bother put it up then and was then told I could've picked the item up from anywhere. I explained that I matched the label to the SEL and was told to show her. She then said she had to check it with her manager.
By this point I was completely embarrssed and was nearing the point of forgetting about it. But the stubborn streak in me dug my heels in (even though it was a cheap pack of chicken!!) and had to get the better of her!!!
She came back all smiles and sweetness saying that she had decided to give me the R+R. The transformation in character was amazing!!! Had she had a telling off in the back?!?! Who knows!!!
20 minutes for a pack of chicken!!! I'd hate to try and R+R something of real value like a TV!!! :rotfl:Debt at 23/01/2007

Loads of leaflets at every check out,
Grabbed the Motorola and a handful of leaflets, went to CS and she offered me £10 refund!
Told her about the policy and she went away to see the manager, she said it was an error on the leaflet and that the Manager had put out a notice saying the phone was excluded from the deal (covering his back, no notice was out) but someone had removed it! Yeah rite!
Still only offering me the £10, i refused , i phoned CS (dundee) and they said i was due a refund, so i passed phone to girl at CS but she was having none of it, so she went and got the Manager, he spoke quietly on phone to CS (dundee) came back and stood by his words, £10 refund, he said TS wer aware of the error (as i told him i'd be phoning them) and nothing i could do about it!
Came back out and phoned CS again, he took all the information and took my house no, when i arrived back a message was left on the phone saying he had spoken to the Manager and the issue had been dealt with, Manager said i accepted the £10 refund (which i didn't!) and nothing more could be done!
He quoted a ref.no and if i had a problem just to phone him back, 3 times i've phoned (from 2.45)and he's constantly busy !

Whilst i sympathise with your issues, i do think that you are flogging a dead horse. Clear instruction has been passed stating that stores are correct in charging the SEL price for the product, and that a piece of POS should be put out to reflect this. This has been passed by the Trading Law dept and by Trading standards. I'm pretty sure that CS at Dundee are aware of this too, hence the declining amount of R&R on this particular product.
The stores that are issuing R&R on this are doing so incorrectly......Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

The manager is quite obviously covering his tracks as he or his staff have failed to put out the "disclaimer" pos on the phone.Im not sure if you can go back and request to see the ctv footage,i would certainly give it a go.0 -

I am not surprised. Loads of untruthes......from him have come to light across this site. Anyone contemplating an RR should take a dictaphone into T's. Go wired up with microphone poking up from cleavage to catch every word. After all T always record all Head Office phone conversations. I had to ring CS re a problem and they just told me the matter was closed. Suggest we all keep our phones ringing into CS till they actually give us a satisfactory answer. They will tire of us eventually!! Go in on the 0800 number otherwise we have to pay for the call.0
