the leaflets in question are the £10 off £50 mobile phone leaflets, with the lower price for the V171. Most stores have taken these down now.

Josie, the variable weight meat nearly always scans at the price on the packet, you're looking for a SEL that says £5.99/Kg and some corresponding packs that say £6.28/Kg. (or substitute any prices where the packet is higher than the SEL)

I've just tried to buy the 1/2 legs of lamb, but they scanned at the right price, boo hoo! Did I get the wrong ones? The SEL said £5.99 per kg and it scanned at the right price £5.66, as it said on the packet???

Also tried the coke at £6.75, but the SA spotted it and put it through at £6.75 - not having much luck here! Wanted to try Heartlands as it was priced at £2.97, but thought it might go through right as well!!

Josie the book def goes through at the higher price,so r&r is in order.
  • Thank you for your email.

I am sorry that you paid more for your purchases than expected on your recent visit to our store. Please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointment caused.

Our policy is that if you are overcharged, we will refund you for the item and you can keep the product. In order to verify the overcharge, you must return the item and your receipt to the store and we will look into this for you.

However, I am sorry for the poor service you have received when returning to our store and I have informed our Store Manager who will ensure the matter is addressed with the staff concerned.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting ***********

    Kind Regards
  • I apologise if this has already been asked, but I didn't fancy wading through hundreds of posts!!

When you say the refund your money, is the whole amount or just the difference?

ie I saw on on the other thread - something was supposed to be 99p and they charged £1.98 - do they refund you the £1.98 (and you keep the product) or just the difference of 99p?

Sorry if that's a dumb question...

No it's not a dumb question - if something cost 99p and you were charged 1.98 they would refund the 1.98 you paid and you keep the product. so completely free. yippee

  • I was just overcharged by £1.00 on a bottle of wine in the Seaton Coop. The lad who dealt with it made a point of saying that since I'd been overcharged by £1.00, I was entitled to double that as a refund, so gave me £2.00. Obviously this isn't as good as the Tesco policy, but it's something.

Motorola V171 phone now has Yellow A5 pos on saying "this phone is not part of the £10 off promotion & is priced at £49.97".

I dont think the leaflet ever indicated it was, the back just showed their range of phones with prices showing the v171 at £39.97. With it being priced at £49.97 it wasnt over the £50 required for the £10 off offer anyway. yet another BS excuse from tesco not to r+r

I bought the v171 today and sure enough it went through £49.97. When I tried to do a R&R they said it was only £39.97 if I spent over £50. I said that is not what it said on the leaflet and he would not budge.
The they said they did not have it anyway and said they would have to refund me but obviuously as they did not have the product i could not have it anyway.

I think they were lying but cant prove it. has anyone complained to head office about this and what happened?

Going by the letter of the R&R policy your only entitled to R&R if the self edge label is wrong. IF they still had the leaflet on display in the store when you tried to buy you might be able to convince them its R&R worthy but I think by now most of the stores have figured it out and gotten rid of the leaflets. No offense intended but I don't think your onto a winner with this one.

As for them saying its out of stock that sounds like abit of a cheaty fob off but then again is that any better/worse morally than trying to buy the phone claiming that you thought the price on the leaflet was valid just so you can try and use the R&R policy?
