Hi,
I'm new to the site and yours was one of the first posts that I have read. I have also set myself a challenge to become a responsible and independent with my finances within the year. I have to admit that my goal is modest I would like to save for a deposit for my own home. I live in shared accommodation paying rent to the homeowner. I have an income £25,000+ and I have no dependents. On paper I should be pretty healthy come each payday however I can't seem to save. I never could understand saving for a rainy day but time is ticking by and I think it's time i become a true grown-up.
I've made steps to take a second job but I need tips on how not to dip into my money pot. Any advice is welcome.:o0 -
I'm no expert but I think these three threads will be helpful for you.
Try completing a budget and finding out where all your money does go. There is an on-line budget planner on here somewhere that does a very good job.

I don't discuss what books I am doing at any given moment really. I am super paranoid about this stuff!"So, I've decided to take my work back underground... to stop it falling into the wrong hands..."0
