Bit of a daft comment. The EA is working for the seller, NOT the buyer. It is their job to get the best deal for their client. If I had taken on an agent to sell my house and he did not do his best to get every last penny out of the buyer, i would consider he was not doing his job properly.
I agree, but theres no need for dirty tricks. No one seems to have any morales, and maybe there is no place for them in this game, but give me a break, why f**k people over for a few extra quid. I said that in anger, and although i still kinda mean it, it was perhaps a silly comment I should not have written down.
So yeah, get every penny outta me, but do it when we are negotiating, not when ive spent money on things and a few days away from signing. Its just wrong, I dont really believe in karma, but I hope there is some truth and if it turns out to be a big con, then both buyer and EA get what they deserve. Oh, and it looks at the min like the EA and cash buyer may know each other.I am NOT a mortgage adviser, or anything else!Infact, Im not an anything advisor and really dont know what im on about!0

They do work for the seller, but im sure when they get good houses/repos in at bargain prices i bet they get some back handers of people who have probably dealt with them for years.
Ive got a mate who works at the car auctions and they always look after the traders/regular customers before the general public and if you think estate agents are any different you must be joking
.He has the traders/regular customers come into the auctions look at the cars, and he deals direct to the seller of the cars and agrees a price before the car goes through the auction.
hes even done it for his friends, i cant see estate agents acting any different.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. God, I hope that potential buyers do the same to you then...
Call me a niaive do-gooder in rose tinted glases, but I think that you should treat people as you would wish to be treated. YES, take a "no nonsense" approach, but for goodness sake do not mess around...
Lay your cards on the table, be firm, be prepared to walk away, but do not play unnecessary games...

I aint being funny but they have cost this bloke over 700 pound and it looks like they have used him to get the survey done and then someone has came in and made a offer afterwards, which seems well dodgy.
If a potential buyer wants to spend 700 pound on a survey on my house and then walk away they can it doesnt cost me anything, but iknow if someone did have a survey done on my house i wouldnt accept a offer of someone else.
I know repos are different but this seems well dodgy whats gone on and they deserve to be messed around, would you like paying a survey for someone to come in and gazump you??
Oh whos apparently a cash buyer so he doesnt need a survey to secure a mortgage.
And i do agree with treat people how you like to be treated yourself and i think the OP has been treated very bad, i wouldnt be very happy after losing 700 pound.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It sounds like maybe the 'cash buyer' is a professional investor who slips a few quid the way of the surveyor to tip him off to good properties.
Probably just me being cynical!I am a Mortgage Adviser

I hate to say is but it looks like this to me, it makes me mad that estate agents can have people over like this, it makes me glad not to be a first time buyer, mind you it could happen to anyone.
And to be honest if i was a estate agent, which i will never be and i had a mate who was a investor, i would probably do it myself, especially now they must be really struggling.
sorry for that, but i probably would.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.0
