Think I need to head for bed as the biccies and cake are calling to me. DH is out at quiz night and kids are all settled so I think tv in bed is the best option.

Have spent the evening trying to decide on a new company car. I am soooooo torn between a small or eco friendly one that will be friendly on the pocket or a flash set of wheels which would keep my outgoings as they are but would do wonders for my moral during these financially and gastronomic days....any thoughts guys!!!!

  • Hi puss14 and welcome, great to have more joining in!
We're a similar weight with a similar goal weight and I know I can't wait to look good in photos again! I'm 26 with an annoyingly slim younger sister and it would be great for once to feel sexy!

griffam - I would go for the small, eco-friendly, cost-effective car as for me that would make me feel great knowing that I was spending less and would also make me feel at ease knowing that if other circumstances changed I could still afford things! but that's just me - I like small cars - easier to park! lol!

DebtBgone - I hate banks too. Try and reclaim any charges they might land you with. Good luck with the house move today hun!

Evening everyone and welcome puss14 good to have you around Not sure if you will be around debtbgone but hope the move went ok. You didn't have the best weather today did you ??

Have done well on the money front but not sure about the diet. Despite a long day ( drove 250 miles) i set to and knocked up some pastry when I got home and made a pie with the left over from the slow cooker yesterday. Will have that with some brad ( home made from the bread maker) and pickled red cabbage. Not so good for diet but if i keep of the snacks and alcohol tonight should be healthy enough.

    What is everyone else doing????

Been very good and put the voucher number for discount with my wallis card straight in the fire.......20% off would usually tempt me to buy but i will resist.

    Hope everyone is ok

With some Brad....that sounds like a nice dish! ;) Mmmm..tasty!!

I'm feeling really down in the dumps today coz the scale is showing a 1 lb increase since yesterday! Now I know I shouldn't weigh myself every day, but I do and it bugs me coz I am trying so hard. Surely at my weight I should be able to lose more in a week than 2 lb, like I did this last week? And a gain? Well how dare it. Grrrr!

Anyway, will plod on, have just had a small bowl of sultana bran flakes with skimmed milk and a cup of tea for breakfst.

Today am going to try and catch up with this parent who I don't know and tell her that my daughter aged 4 is too young to go to her daughters house for tea on her own. I mean, I don't even know this lady's name or where she lives and my daughter isn't a big fan of her little girl. I think she is trying to force friendships and I'm not interested, especially as I think it's a bit off to ask when the parents don't know each other. I'm sure she's a nice lady, but she's got my back up a bit by assuming its ok without me being there - my daughter would hate being on her own in a strangers house! daft woman, but anyway, will decline nicely.

Hope everyone is ok today, so far it's not raining - I got drenched yesterday!
    Speak later, x

Evening all. Hope you all have had good day. Early start for m again as had to be in Leeds ....another 250 mile round trip. Took my flask again and my thermal mug. At least I no longer feel a mug using it....was the mug before I started when coffees in the car were costing me at least a fiver a day. £25 a week £1000 a year ???????.

Enjoyed the pie last night but now we have leftover pie:rotfl: I also used the left over pastry to make a jam tart and now we have left over tart :j

Quite getting used to this not wasting I would hate to add up how much money I have put in the bin over a life time.

In view of the lbs as opposed to the £`s I will leave the pie to hubby and knock myself a salad together maybe with a couple of boiled eggs and a jacket spud.

Looks like my brother in law is going to buy us out re the house we were left between us. Apparently he has had the mortgage application approved so hopefully should not take long.

Have ny of you guys posted your SOA........ was wondering whether to be brave and actually complete one. Feel a bit apprehensive bout it.

How has the house move gone debtbgone ?

Dont b down PP3 you know you should not get on the scales every day.....mind you who can resist. Also looking forward to hearing how you got on the socially scrummy laid back mother!!!!!

Puss 14 was it flowers or veggie gardening??

Shoegal.....hows it gone today any biccies consumed??

No, have been quite good today! Just been to the cinema and resisted sweets ...... and was given a box of chocolates at work and haven't opened them!!!! :j

I, too am guilty of getting on the scales everyday - by this morning I had put back on the 3 lbs I lost last week :o
Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

I remember doing one about a year and a half ago, but I never posted it on the DFW board. I could see just from my SOA the areas I needed to cut down on and I kept checking other people's SOA's for their advice and managed to cut mine right down. I'm nearly debt-free now, just another couple of months or so, but I might do another one for my own interest, just to see what my surplus/negative is!

Why not post yours up on here Griffam? And anyone else who wants to? We can all have a pick through each others and make suggestions!

Actually in the office today so sneaked a quick look. I will get around to doing a SOA when I can tie Hubby down tio go through it all. managed to chop some fruit before I left this morning and a can of pop. When in the office we are fed so I am about to nip down to the kitchen and order a jacket spud and salad for lunch.

I managed to find some of the supplments I buy on line last night and they were a darn sight cheaper than I pay in Holland and barret or tesco so I now have a years supply of Soy isoflavines, St Johns Wort and Evening primrose oil winging it`s way to me.

Going to nip to the home brew shop later and get another wine kit on the go.....try and build up a bit of a stock. It makes brill pressies with a nice label and a bit of ribbon attached.

catch up with you guys later
