  • debtbgone-sounds like you had a very productive day-good on you for walking home after accidentaly chucking your ticket out-a lot of people would have just bought another one so you were saving the pennies and helping shed the pounds-yay!!

kat - deffo a good idea to shut the curtains whilst on the wii fit-for some reason, every time i'm playing the wii, the window cleaner decides to show up so i'm jumping around the living room like a lunatic and he doesn't know where to look!

elsie - hope your review goes ok and doesn't stress you out too much

griffam- congrats on the money situation-thats really fab! hope you work out what to do with it without too much stress!

as for the snoring-my boyfriend snores sometimes and i ended up getting ear plugs-i know they're not everyones cup of tea but they've definitely worked for me, and he loves them as it means i'm not smacking him or telling him to roll over every 5 minutes!

today is my weigh day and i lost 1 and a quarter pounds, so the weight is coming off slowly. Hopefully today will be a NSD but i've a sneaky feeling that me and the other half will be treating ourselves to a chippy tonight, i've my fingers crossed that he'll pay!

hope everyone has a good friday-yay for the weekend!

Well I bought my scales into work this morning and asked a colleague to weigh me. I figure the public shame of someone other than me and my doctor knowing my weight might finally make me do something about it. I feel kind of relieved, like now its out in the open I can't fool myself into thinking I am not that big. So I might as well tell you all too - I weigh 236 pounds  I think that makes me the heaviest here

Said colleague is going to weigh me every Friday so I will definitely be posting at least once a week to update you all with my progress. I think once a month I will do a tally up and total my weight lost and how much my debt has gone down.

I am so glad its Friday and the sun is shining here in London at the moment.

  • hi PercyPig

you're so brave getting a colleague to weigh you-i could never do that!!! It's nice you feel relieved about the whole thing though-having it out in the open definitely stops the whole denial thing. My mum is the same weight as you-she was actually 245 6 weeks ago but she's started cutting down so i'm really proud of her progress so far.

lucky you that its sunny where you are, its pretty dull here-kind of matches my mood at the minute!

Just a reminder before you go and buy a tv and a phone that you might be able to get them on www.freecycle.org for nothing. And maybe could have got the fridge/freezer and washer on there as well. All you would have to have done was pick it up...

I have to confess that I am just about maintaining my weight ie it is not getting any worse. But then I know not to have chocolate in the house, nor any other vices. It helps that my DS is allergic to milk and I don't like to eat things he can't have in front of him. I don't mean this as a dig, but why do we sabotage ourselves by buying things WE KNOW are fattening? I mean I am assuming that like me you are the ones doing the shopping, so how does this fattening stuff get in our shopping basket.

I think what has worked for me is having a shopping list. I don't put fattening foods on it, and then try REALLY hard to stick to the list. I do slip up from time to time, but mostly my willpower is helped by not having it in the house in the first place.

Now I just have to have enough willpower to so some exercise.....

    Hi everyone,

I am doing the same as Percy and loosing weight with support of a colleague.
She is quitting smoking and I am quitting overeating - and we have pledged not to let each other down. I started last Wednesday - with Lent - at 10st 12lb. Lost 2Lb already :T I am aiming for 9st 4lb by the mid June when we are going on a girly shopping for clothes weekend if we succeed. I have also told evryone in my deptartment at work about it, so I will be very :o:o:o if I give up.

    Good luck everyone :)
  • Hello, can I join in with you guys on this debt-free/weight-free journey?! :D

I have sorted out a lot of our debt and are nearly there, even though hubby has no money at the end of the month and it's been v.stressful to say the least!!! I'd rather have no money and be happy knowing we were paying off debts (sad, I know), than be forking out for non-essential pleasures!

I need to lose a lot of weight, have already made a start - I used to weigh 19st 10 lbs !!! Shocking!
I now weigh 16st 2 lbs and I'm on a mission for the summer! I gain a lot of inspiration from the Biggest Loser US (I told u I'm sad...!) and have changed what I eat considerably. I'm trying to lose 2-3 lbs/week at least. I don't care about posting my weight because no-one knows me and it gives me an incentive seeing my weight in black and white! :o

Anyway, I paid off a big debt this week, leaving me with about a grand to pay, incl about 400 on a card.

So far today I've eaten 1/2 bowl of shreddies with skimmed milk and a cup of tea with skimmed milk, no sugar. For lunch I will have soup and tonight I'm having chicken and brown rice with the kids.

    Have a good day everyone!
  • Good Morning my Fellow Goodbye Debt Goodbye Fat followers!!!

A quick update from me. On 5th Jan this year I got on the scales and saw 17st 2lbs. Yikes!!!!! Also decided that smoking was really really bad for me (health and debt wise) so decided that had to go too.

Got weighed this morning and I am 14st 13 3/4 lbs so I have just sneaked into the 14st range. I am so happy. Tried on all my old holiday clothes from last year and they hang off fme. I don't know what I was thinking with size 24 short denim shorts but never mind that's in the past.

I am making a big pan of soup today so that will keep us going for a few days. Hubby is doing this with me so I have lots of support. DD joining in to. She's only 9 and not big but she has realised that when she is not with us she is not making healthy choices so wants to re-educate herself. They sound so grown up. Plus we submitted her photos to a modelling agency, at her request, and she has been invited for test shoot in April so wants to be really healthy for that. She is a gorgeous redhead with big brown eyes. DS, who is 4 is gutted he hasn't been invited but quickly forgot about it when we bought him a Ben 10 toy.

DD is dancing most of the weekend so will be full of busy. You name any st5yle of dance and she does it. Ballroom and Latin American are her favourites. We go to comps all over the country so that works out slightly expensive but she saves her pocket money to contribute towards this. Dresses are very very expensive.

On a down side I noticed a diamond has disappeared from my engagement ring yesterday. Not covered on house insurance so will have to go to jewellers and get a price to fix. I am now thinking about choosing a new ring, my old ring had 3 stones - now only 2 - and maybe having them 2 diamonds made into earrings. Anyone know if they do this?

Think that's enough rambling on from me. Have to get ready and walk to post office - yes walk - it's 2 miles away, to post some ebay parcels. We're doing really well on there. 250 in 2 weeks.

Catch up with you all tonight. Have a good fat faighting day. Kat x :j

I know what you mean - I had a pair of size 22 black shorts and I was just glad that I fitted into something!
I don't know why I even considered wearing shorts, I held them up and was shocked at the size, but still wore them thinking I might have looked alright. :o

Am hoping to sneak into the 15st range at some point this next week, I weigh in on a Monday, so fingers crossed!
  • Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you!!!!!

This is the longest I have lasted on a healthy eating plan. Won't say 'diet' otherwise I start to crave everything naughty! This is a new way of life for me and my family. The healthy Robsons we will be.
