where did all the lurkers go, look like we are going get a great thread then its gone all quiet! mind you i have noticed quite a few weight loss ones on here-guess the members that have been around a while have more will power when its comes to typing and signing in.
ive got a blood test tomo so im on fasting at the moment and all i want is chocolate! mmmmmmm
on the plus side ive been the gym today! and yesterday i ordered the sofa for our new place, very excited!-thou not helpin gon the debt front obviously this is going to go up before it goes down especially with moving week!0 -
thus todays achievements towards my fighting fat and fighting debt
1) went to the gym and the docs to get a check up(having blood tests)
-also accidently put my return bus ticket in the bin with my red bull(this is my vice!) so had to walk home which is about a mile and half
2) i paid my pennies into the back ive been going to do for weeks so my bank account is £12.39 better off!

Lurker here reporting for duty!!!!! Hehe!!!!
Been up since 5am for work so will be in bed shortly but I'm off for the weekend now. I must get my Wii Fit out tomorrow morning, but remember to shut living curtains so that nosy neighbour does not spu me doing imaginary hula hoops!!!!!
I've done OK today apart from the 1 square of mint aero that my sister thre down my throat.
Today has been my first spend day since Sunday. It's my Mam's birthday tomorrow so had to buy a present but been thinking I've probably saved at least 20 since Monday due to not smoking.
Life feels good at the moment, but must think of some more money raising ideas!!!

i suspect the problem with this thread appealing to lurkers is that we tend to view and not type!, it always seems like so much effort to sign in and write, so much so it took me a year of lurking before i typed a thing-i mean why was i so reluctant, especially as i seem to be so frivilous with everything else especially food and money that i dont have!
i suppose i need to do a switich i need less food and more money! but can i do it!- will be weighing myself on monday night at the local sports centre and seeing if my effort so far which to be honest has been small little changes- like giving up my beloved pepsi has made a difference!0 -
Lurker on duty debtbegone !!!!!
Good news and bad news?? I`ll start with the bad. I have eaten like a pig tonight. !! Kebab, crisps and chocolate and now started on the wine. Where has my resolve gone, what made me do it, who forced all the lovely grub down my throat. I HAD TO DO IT. It was the shock!!! WE have had a massive shock tonight and I really do not want to gloat but I have to tell someone and this forum affords me a little anonymity.
First a little background. About ten years ago our finances where dire. We lost two house and had to default on in the region of £40K of debt. After eight years we paid everything off and finally were brave enough to venture into home ownership again. We really bit the bullet and bought a virtually derelict property and set about project managing the renovations ( DH is totally incapable of evn changing a plug) so doing any of it ourself was out of the question. Any way we actually managed it and I have deliberatly not consolodidated all of the loan repayments and as a result we have about £30K of unsecured debt. This is a pain but we are sytamatically working our way through them. Plenty of swappin around of accounts and keeping interest payments down. When you offset this against the equity of £80K in the house it is well worth it. My only issue has been that we are not clearing it quick enough.
This is nothing like the debt we had before as we actually have the assets still in hand
SO WHAT ABOUT THE GOOD NEWS I HEAR YOU YELLING. WEEELLLLL. !!!!! DH`s aged sweet uncle ( well not a real uncle just some distant relative)has just died and everyone thought the money would go to his equally aged brother but shock of shocks......and I mean big shock of shocks he has left the house to DH and his two siblings!!!!!
Quick reccy and we reckon anywhere between 35-45K each. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT.
I really cannot tell my family yet as we are no the richest of families and I will want to shrae my good luck but need time to think about the best way to help them out whilst sorting out some of my problems.
So there you go thats my news.
Be back on duty soon DBGHello Payday! How are. . Hey where are you going? . . Please don't walk out on me.
. Come back!0 -
:j wow griffam im so happy for you! its great when something so positive can come from someone passing!
id defo be careful about tellin people just yet it sounds harsh but even family members are human and green eyed monsters can mean your very quickly giving it all away because your such a great natured person.
unfortunately ive watched this happen in my family, when of course the first thing you want to do is share your new found fortune with the ones you care about the most!
i hope you have had a fab night, lets be real who would not eat and drink what they wanted if they had such amazing news.
ive been good today, although i started fasting from 8 and just watched masterchef final on the i player not the best of ideas im starving now!
tomo i prob wont be good, as my dad is baby sitting hopefully and me and hubby are hoping to go for a lovely meal as a sort of last time before we move out and have no money all over again!
anyway DBG signing out for now, going to try and sleep and not go and put some more washing in which is tempting me...ok i will be putting teh washing in but then im definatley going to bed, sat in between my hubby and daughter snoring ther heads off right now is no fun!love to all the lurkers-get signed in it really is helpful:D

:rotfl: NB-i also wanna take this time so say sorry for my terrible spelling which will continue as im a fast but inaccurate typist who also has dyslexia so typing has never been my friend-youd think having just spent 5 years on a history degree it would get better but i actually suspect its got worse, rather like my husbands snoring over the years, i sometimes think hel wake the neighbours and my dads is a detached! lol sayin that my daughter is only a few months and she can give him a run for his money(not that he has any, haha) and you should be around when the cat joins in its a real treat:eek:
anyway im really going this time otherwise al bore the lurkers and they will never join us!come on sign up if only to add your funny stories we are all in same boat...well maybe not otherwise it would sink, especially us fighting the fat! oh wel i better go the lack of sleep and dam fast is clearly making me hysterical!

Hi DebtBgone.
Serial Lurker No 3 signing in.....Yes its 5.33am and again I'm up for work. Resisted the temptation to buy chocolate yesterday, but.....wait for it........bought Wine gums instead. But on the plus side I did buy 2 bags of fresh oranges, of which I have eaten 2. I know , I know.....I'm weak, but I have things on my mind. I have a review with our DMP this afternoon and I know that we are going to have to reduce our payments. OH's company has had to take reduced hours, therefore he has lost £180 per month. I have promised myself that on Monday I will get weighed on my way home from work, and I also have the prospect of a weekend away to look forward to in the future, so I defo want to lose weight.:j
I promise that come Monday I will lose weight. Must go now, but will sign in for duty again later tonight.
Have a good day guys
June 2010 - 11/56 lbs Weight to lose before May 2011.

Morning Debtbegone
I knew it!! I said our hubbys sound similar and the mention of the snoring just confirms that they are one and the same man!!!
I posted a few weeks ago how I got my ultimate revenge for all the sleepless nights. As you know he in technically inept and one of the thinks he does not understand is how to operate his mobile phone. He makes and receives calls and that is it. ........Whats that got to do with snoring I hear!!!
Well I have recorded his window shattering snoring and set it as his ring and message tone. I figured if I live with the noise all night............. he can have it all day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hello Payday! How are. . Hey where are you going? . . Please don't walk out on me.
. Come back!0
