Dear _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
It appears that a third party accessed your eBay account and used it to list items without your authorisation.
At this time we have taken several steps to secure your eBay account, including cancelling the unauthorised listings and crediting all associated fees to your account. We assure you that your credit card and bank details are kept encrypted on secure server and have not been viewed by anyone.
To restore access to your account securely, please follow these steps
1. Change the password on your personal EMAIL account to verify that it is secure and cannot be accessed by anyone other than you.
2. Change the password on your eBay account. Click "I've forgotten my password" on the eBay sign-in page and follow the instructions to choose a new password.
3. Check that the contact information on your account is correct. Go to "Personal Information" in My eBay.
We recommend you take our Account Protection tutorial to help understand how your account was compromised and how you can protect yourself in future. Copy this link into a new browser window:

I knew nothing about it. I don't know how they managed to Hi-jack my account but I am impressed by how quick eBay reacted and no harm has apparently been done. :T

I had this happen to me last June; we were on holiday for a week & went to log onto Hotmail when I got back home and found out what had happened. Someone had hacked into my Ebay account & tried to sell several sets of +GHD straighteners - Ebay identified there was a problem immediately & prevented any type of fraud. I followed the advice you have received in the email they have sent you & have had no problems since. It was a good wakeup call, because to be honest, I had used the simple same password for a number of different accounts, up until then.0

Do you use the Ebay bid sniper service Justsnipe.com at all?
As it seems Justsnipe.com's security has been compromised & many people's Ebay password info (mine included) had been leaked.
If so, i suggest you cancel asap.0 -

I don't normally but I did this week as I was away when the auction ended.
Can I ask, have you continued to use the same snipe account or closed and re-open a new account with the same snipe site?£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Hi, as you may have noticed i changed my previous post slightly (as i don't think bidnapper's security has been compromised at all).......but it definitely seems to be problems with Justsnipe.com (see posts number 9+ in one of my other threads http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1510097&highlight=justsnipe
I cancelled my Justsnipe.com account as soon as i found out what had happened & now have an Auctionstealer account which has McAfee security.
I did notice though, when going back into the Justsnipe website to cancel - that it didn't state what sort of security it had. I'm surprised i hadn't realised that before, then after looking for another snipe website - almost all of them i browsed, had clearly stated having McAfee security or whatever on their homepages.
What gets to me, is that Justsnipe must know what's going on and haven't had the decency to warn/inform people.0 -

Hi, well this is the email i received. If you follow the instructions - you'll probably be able to restore your account.
