Don't companies usually insure themselves against this kind of thing happening? Remember Hoover and the free flights!!!!!!!!!!

Any company that requires an insurance policy that covers it in case its Marketing department makes an erroneous offer that it can't honour should get a new marketing department. Simple as.

Once again, you are a sick, sick person.
and you're a tree hugging hippie!? Why not just let it go? I don't think cdwow are an evil company that deserve to go under- but yes, sometimes companies do deserve to go bust- and this no doubt causes job losses. There are all sorts of (legitimate) scamming by legitimate companies that take money from, often vulnerable, trusting people that I believe should not make profits. Some people have horrific jobs fronting these companies, and whilst they might be reasonable people I also would like to see them temporarily out of work.

Again, this is not the case with cdwow. But if sashacat wants to vent, I expect that his/her bad feeling will probably actually do very little damage to this company!
  • urm ok I get what you're saying about companies scamming people but you have just said you don't think this is the case with CDWOW. And no, I don't think someone ranting on this forum is really gonna damage the company - I just can't believe someone would wish a company would 'go under' because of a freebie offer that went wrong due to people taking advantage! Plus I don't actually care too much, I just saw dear old Sashacat had posted again and not addressed what I said, which upset my treehugginghippie heart. Sob.

Todays e - mail promotion from cd wow - free vouchers ( unrelated )

    Wait for it - I have won 50p ?

My response to cd wow and time out today

I think you have a bit of a cheek offering more un-related free vouchers today when you haven't even honoured the Time Out deal, which Time Out have asked you to do, at least in my particular case. cd wow and Time Out will not be getting custom from me and I am sure lots of others unless you sort this shambles out quickly. We are a week overdue already.

If it's unrelated don't bring it up. I got that e-mail myself and also got 50p. You are (perhaps understandably) annoyed at the Time Out problems, but why on Earth would you then enter into another voucher giveaway (one of many that I am sure cd wow are running) only to start whining like a schoolgirl when you are the one who signed up to receive e-mails and promotions in the first place. Don't forget that there were loads of people who were already on their systems before Time Out. I would imagine this voucher is aimed at them as well. By all means take exception to the fact that you have received this while still chasing another voucher, but don't drag it into this thread where it has no place.

treehugginghippie, I don't have to justify anything I say, think, or do to you. I was not intending to reply to you in my posts...don't be so self important.
Thanks to those who have given alternative cd sites. I shall use these in future and recommend them to all my friends.

does anyone have any idea how to word an email to cdwow expressing my disappointment at 3 x £3 vouchers? i actually do buy timeout and live in london. yes my address says essex, but i live in a london borough and all the shops stock london timeout. plus i signed up for the emails.

Cheap cds are also available from http://www.music-wow.com/ they have a much faster delivery than bangcd but like them have a more limited collection than cdwow.
