Ok, lets put this into context people. I've looked up Time Out's circulation figures from ABC (the people who monitor and publish these figures. Time Out's average net circulation is 89,000 copies per issue.) This thread alone has had over 185,000 views. Lets just say a third of those views generated voucher applications (and I suspect its far more than a third) thats over 61,000 applications, without even considering actual Time Out readers.

Is it any wonder CD-WOW suspected foul play here??

I applied, but don't care that I didnt get a voucher. In fact the more I think about it the more I wish I hadn't replied. Give it up people - unless you have a copy of the magazine sat next you then nobody owes you anything.

There's a difference between moneysaving and moneygrabbing. And its no wonder CDWOW is going into damage limitation mode. This effect will get bigger and worse until these companies will stop issuing such offers (I'm thinking a big supermarket who like naked chefs and the colour orange?)

Martin has updated the first post in this thread to say that 85,000 people applied in total. So while CD-WOW didn't expect quite such high numbers, this is still less than the readership of Time Out magazine.

As for a third of page views generating applications, personally I have visited this thread many, many times, and I'm sure the same is true for others.

Good luck to Martin when he speaks to CDWow! on Thursday.

It might help if before Thursday we all contact CDWow! to ask them where our vouchers are. This will give them some indication of the strength of feeling about their actions.

Why not do what I've done and email them with your query? I've emailed to both the following addresses:

    help@cd-wow.com
    reply@cd-wow.com

If they see a large number of messages they might rethink their present attitude.

    Regards,
    Art.

Don't be fooled by the Viewed by stats, check the people viewing most people don't bother logging in so each time they look they add to the figures.

Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

CD-Wow are currently planning not to send the voucher, I have a telephone chat scheduled with their MD for thursday (he's out of the country). I will keep you informated

They don't have a choice I'm afraid - see my earlier posts in this thread. I trust that everyone legitimately applying has kept their acceptance of the offer as I previously suggested.

Their contact details appear to be as follows - Martin will no doubt be able to confirm if their MD is still Phil Robinson:

    CD WOW!
    Customer Service Centre
    Suite 2a
    Gregories Court
    Gregories Road
    Beaconsfield
    Bucks
    HP9 1HQ
    GB

    Phone: 0870 350 0899

    Fax: 0870 350 0925

That would make it Bucks Trading Standards to contact if these are not issued today - contact details here:

    http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/trading_standards/advice_opening.htm

I think what we are now looking for from Mr Robinson (if it is he) is not only for legitimate applications to be honoured immediately, but for the redemption window to be extended - originally it was the 14th, but clearly the vouchers have largely not been issued yet.

With respect to Martin, Thursday is too late (tough luck on their MD - it's not our problem if he is away) - today is the deadline for these things to be sent out and I would advise anyone who has applied in good faith to take immediate action if they do not get them or a response from CD Wow today.

As I have already suggested, everyone who has a complaint should email CDWow! so that when the MD returns to his office he is greeted by an avalanche of emails. This will show his the depth of feeling about his companies actions.

    Email to:

no offence intended Art, but emails are easy to delete - even in bulk, and as we can see from this thread, the company seems to be perfecting ignoring them already, judging by other's comments!

You miss the point - they have to view each email to decide if they can delate it as they will be mixed with their normal sales and customer service emails. Remember this company deals mainly by electronic means. Very little will be by snail-mail so this can possibly easily be ignored.

Take it from me, I have spent a lifetime in retail, letters can be ignored as much as emails and phone calls.

At the end of the day, all forms of attack will help to get our message through.

    Art.
