Just visited the Crown Carvery in Luton - moat house - it was truly a bargain! Really lovely pub and friendly. Food was amazing. As a bit of advice for the kiddies portion - adults are 3.50 and kiddies are 3.25 - so it might be worth paying for the adult price and sharing out the LARGE portion of meats. ;-) Drinks were reasonable - and desserts lovely. Definitley going back there - and thanks to MSE - would never have known about it otherwise!!!!0

I have to aggree with the above.
Crown and Toby Carverys win hands down for value.
Especially if you go for a nice meal with hubby alone. There is no way you could cook a proper roast dinner at home for £7 (with yorkshire pudding stuffing sauces ect).
I think the food is equally good at both. I prefer Toby though as at crown they are sometimes a bit tight with the amount of meat they give you. The icecream at toby is the type I like the best also.
Even when you go on a Sunday and its full price £6 at crown and £8.50 at Toby, I would still say its very good value for that price.0 -
Double Six cafe at 66 Eversholt Street, alongside Euston station. Opens at 7am for a massive breakfast on a huge oval plate for just £3.10.
Open till 10pm, you can get a dinner there for a fiver, and lovely apple crumble and custard for £2.
Prices correct as of March 2009.0 -
