    FIREFOX
    http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

    NOSCRIPT
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

For most webpages to work they run 'scripts'
NOSCRIPT auto blocks ALL scripts. Once unlocked they stay unlocked.
The idea behind it is 'certain' webpages will use malicious scripts to infect your computer so NOSCRIPT will stop them doing so.
To use noscripts use common sense. For example ~ you would need to unlock certain things to see videos on youtube. But you SHOULDNT go unlocking any scripts on pron sites ;)
I personally have mine set to NOT show blocked scripts. I simply look at the big 'S' (bottom right of screeen). ANY red in it at all means something is blocked on the webpage.

Put it this way. Youve used AVG and AVAST, of which BOTH have allowed your machine to be infected

If you DONT put them on and you continue to use Internet Explorer id guess sooner or later youll get infected again

    Its your computer..........
(And regardless of what your putting on, it MUST be better than what WAS on :p)

    aliEnRIK,

You have, as always, been a 5 (count them!) star hero with this.

    :A :A :A :A :A

    :T

But...the next time anyone asks in here why they should buy a Mac instead of a PC, I'm going to point them to this thread.

    Who needs this?

Why do people keep on spending money buying Windows computers and doing battle with this horrific, paralysing stuff, every day, when they don't need to?

Is it some sort of bizarre masochism?

I truly cannot comprehend why anyone would choose to inflict this anguish upon themselves - let alone pay money to do it.

How could they function at all, were it not for :As like you - and Browntoa and others - giving up so much of their time to bail them out?

What would they do if this site closed? What will they do when you go on holiday?

How can anyone responsible who needs a computer to work reliably put themselves at such risk by using such a compromised and vulnerable operating system?

I always heard that it was bad, but watching it happen, day after day, week after week, month after month, on here, I have become totally amazed and confounded by the enormity of it and the way that people just seem to accept it - quite unnecessarily - as something they have to put up with.

However much a Mac and OS X may cost, it's nothing if it spares one this.

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Goto the NOSCRIPT website using firefox
It will auto install when you click it

Just leave internet explorer as it is

So very true. But im pretty sure MOST people have a windows based machine as theyre generally quite a bit cheaper. Ive personally never even touched a MAC, never mind used one. But im pretty sure they are fanastic computers (At a price)

The flipside is if EVERYONE had a MAC, viruses would start attacking them im sure ;)

Katie, I don't think Leopard's post was directed at you specifically. I think it was meant for the general readership of this thread.
