I was very close to completing the application for this card, but I got a sudden thought that this was to good to be true. The application page is shocking, it asks for your debit card information, but doesn't tell you what its for! The front page lets you believe it is a credit card. I cannot believe it is actually allowed.:mad::mad:

It really is an awful money making scheme, aimed at people with bad credit scores. Basically it costs you £80.00 to join, followed by a monthly fee and then you do not get a credit card, you get an allowance to spend on their limited online catalogue that will undoubtedly be over priced and will not help your credit score at all. I can only imagine the poor people they manage to con around Xmas when they are desperate to buy their kids presents.

Disgusting con artists, no better than loan sharks in my eyes !

I think its a great money making scheme, its not actually a con either, its just people not reading the T&C's or small print properly.

Payday loans are another great buisness as well just wish I had the capital to set one up myself.
  • thought it was a credit card fell for it phoned to cancel and was told it would takeup to 8 weeks to get money back 39.95 . or they would put 20 pounds back in my account within 5 working days plus take of the monthley fee 4.95 said yes to this because i just wanted something back when i get paper work im going to try to cancel everything wish me luck:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::j

Looks like the site is down now...no more fools who give their card details to anyone who asks to con..WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • If you report you card as lost or stolen or cancel your card would that stop them accessing money from your account as they have the acc number rathger than the card number???
  • STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!

I stupidly paid to join at £39.95. The terms are very tough. Look at article 15 in the T&C's entitled REFUND OF CARD MEMBERSHIP. Its practically impossible to get your refund.

    1. They send you a letter with lots of leaflets and a flimsy "credit card" which is just a paper card with your name on it. Crap.

    2. Most of us dont read all the T&C's. You'd never guess this at the time of taking your "credit line" out, but, if you want a refund, you have to send ALL the leaflets and the envelope back in order to get your refund. The leaflets are junk mail offering you so called discounts on holidays which are well over priced anyway, just like their goods. Obviously, I cant get a refund, I threw the junk mail away without realising Id have to keep it in order to get my money back. I got the card and welcome letter, but thats not good enough.

    3. Before you can send anything though, you need to call their expensive, unhelpful customer service team and then after waiting years to speak to someone, you have to get a number code then send that together with all the leaflets and the card.

    4. On top of this, their agreement is just written to bleed you dry at every point possible.

    PRODUCTS THEY SELL

The products are out of date. The things being sold are mobile phone accessories but not mobile phones, a few pc accessories like crappy carry cases. but no laptops or netbooks or ipads. No gadgets. Its all the !!!! no one wants at an overly priced rate. All products are conveniently priced at 125% - 160% MORE than retail. No item has a retail value of £400 on their site.

    DELIVERY

Get this... delivery takes 4 6 weeks!!! Who the !!!! is gonna wait that long for an item!!

    SHIPPING FEES

Way over priced!!! They say you only pay for shipping, then pay for the product you selected monthly. However, its not quite like that... If a stereo (!!!!) costs in currys £60, at ecredit, youlll pay £160 ish, plus delivery at about £30. However, you have to pay WITH the delivery, a significant amount towards the stereo, which will be about £70. So, they got more than the retail price for it, they covered their !!!!!!. Next, your payment is due 4 weeks time to clear the balence, but guess what, your stereo STILL WONT BE THERE for another 2 weeks!! This means they are trying to cover themselves with full payment just incase you order and dont pay. If you dont pay in the second month, you wont get your item.

You need at least £70 to order something on your first time with your so called credit line... theres no !!!!ing credit line.. you have to pay upfront at every stage.

    PRODUCT Request..

Limited... !!!!. Stay away!! You can supposedly request a product, I did. A netbook. Never got it..

as long as you cancel your card, report it as lost or stolen, they cant take anything.

acc numbers are used to pay in, not take money out of your account.

the long card number is what is important, having this enables them to take money from your account. When you get a new card, the last 4 digits change and they cant take money from your old card as its cancelled.

    fcuk them.

Well. I only just came across this forum while doing the stupid thing of researching this scam AFTER it got me.

The bad news is it got me without me realising. Yes, that makes me sound stupid but bear in mind I am 19 and not particularly up to date with all these scams...I don't particularly watch Watchdog e.c.t i was used to applications being "pre-approved" then some annoying phone calls in the next few days without getting anywhere.

But the good news of my age is that actually, I only have 51p in my account which is only a current account, it cannot overdraw. And as soon as i realised what I had let myself in for, I cut up my card into little bits. And it is the card number, expiry date and 3 digit security code they ask for so I'm assuming the cutting of the card (Which, also, is an electron, I'm not sure that was in the option i just put it down as debit) and the 51p in my account will cancel the whole thing...I guess I'll find out tomoro.....this is beyond s*** really isn't it?

Anyone still up who has any advice on my experience so stop me staying up all night by any chance?

The physical act of cutting up the card has no relevance at all upon the situation, after all its the numbers on the card that you've given them, not the card itself...

Having said that, you may be lucky and the amount of cash in the account may stop them taking anything.

You need to contact your bank and get a new account number and new card and pin.

If you have been really unlucky, this unscrupulous company will have worked out some way of making your account overdrawn, even though its not supposed to be possible. Be warned.
  • This card is a rip off it advertises as a credit card but its not its just a stupid store card kind of thing were u can only use it for there catalogue. But when your signing up for it u think that your putting in your bank details for direct debit but thats not the case its so they can con a membership fee out of you so they kind of trick u in to paying with out u knowing. And also they make you pay shipping costs and postage costs for the items u buy from there catalogue.and when you want a refund for your massive mebership fee they tell you that theres a 7 pound none refundable admin fee. Please avoid this card because soon as u use it thats were they get ya
