Never really done much with oats before but decided to bake more to reduce costs and bought Tesco value oats. Have made flapjacks and oaty biscuits. Any more ideas, apart from porridge?“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Do you like porridge?
You can make porridge with hot milk, keep stirring until you get a lovely texture. Then I add in mixed seeds that I buy, (I get my Omega 6 fix) then I also add crushed almonds, topped with honey or maple syrup. It's really delicious.... I also chopp up a banana and add that to it and get part of my 5 a day in.
that's just one of my options that I create to have a great breakfast instead of just boring porridge. You can also add raisins etc.
Found these recipes below as I like yourself I only use oats for porridge, but know you can make flapjacks and biscuits..- Cranachan with fresh Skye raspberries

I put oats into meatloaf instead of breadcrumbs. A couple of handfuls, along with a grated carrot, grated onion, a teaspoon of salt and and an egg to bind.
A friend makes a dessert, the name of which I have forgotten, where you toast some oats in a pan, whip up some cream, stir the oats in and serve with raspberries or stewed rhubarb.
Hope this helps0 -
